This seemed like the place to put this:

I got fan-tab-ulous late Christmas gift today! The gift of 3Ds Max 9! (It just happens to be about three weeks late from when I was supposed to get it  )

Anyway, it isn't installed yet (Getting my Sims-addicted mother an expansion pack for "The Sims II" was rather stupid of me in retrospect :wink: ) but I do in fact now have some of the most powerful commercial 3D animation software on the open market! *Does a funky dance*

Now if my inner ear would stop telling me that sideways is down this day would be awesome...

Much appreciated, Mad. Still haven't installed it yet (Doctor Who was still downloading and took up a lot of bandwidth that the program would have needed) but before the day is up I'll try to make a sphere or something to test my abilities... Heehee... It's finally here... :D

If any questions arise simply ask Kryt and myself.

And maybe rewatch my video tut! :)

What he said

So, how was my Christmas? Well ... different is a good way to describe it.

It has to be the first year I've gotten up Christmas morning and not cared. I guess it's partly a coming of age thing, but mainly political correctness gone wrong. There's so little Christmas spirit around it's saddening.

What else? How about the fact I had a white Christmas! Now, some of you are probably thinking: "Yeah, so what?"

Well ... Australia, Christmas: 25-35 degrees, hot and sunny with plenty of out doors fun. Not a blanket of hail!

Seriously - I stared bleakly out my window, eyes widening as the torrent of hail plummeted from the skies to caress the iron roof with a deafening roar, all the while turning the once green backyard into a ocean of white thanks to the desert of diffracting ice crystals, with a dumbfounded look on my face wondering if some how my brother was pulling off the world's best prank. And yes, the hail made me write that!

In the past we've had rain and bad weather around Christmas, but never on the day. And never has it hailed like it did, you would have thought it were winter and not summer.

Hmm, on top of that I've been in bad health lately - which just ruined one of the best parts of Christmas. The food!

Turkey, Ham, Prawns ... other stuff too. But alas, I could only manage one serving  Whhhhhyyyy?

Apart from that, it was good to see family again - even if crook.

Now, more people talk about Christmas goodness!

@Mad: My god son, you're going to get right rooted plastered with all that grog! I hope you are at least able to remember Christmas after that bash, because you sure as hell wont remember that night

Rather warm down here. Christmas was spent in shorts and a T-shirt. Heck, I went surfing on the 24th- didn't even need the wet suit I had on, really.

The sickness stuff went through my part of the world, too, (It was something like 79 degrees outside on Christmas day and I wound up spending it in jeans and a sweat shirt) as well as my family.

Relatively mild here in England, spent most of the day with my family, and then the night and next couple of days at the girlfriends grandparents, which was... fun :)

We got what appears to be our lasting snowfall on Boxing Day here. subsequent small storms have kept it on the ground and the local out door skating rink is pritty much ready for use now. :D

Went to the Christmass party for the other half of my family yesterday. We all draw names in August to see who each of us gets a present for. This year I got;

Creating the worlds of STAR WARS - 365 DAYS By John Knoll.

It's fairly small but weighs more than you would expect. It my have stuff from the prequels in it but the other half about the original movies are still interesting.

(I had no idea that they only built half of the full size Falcon in ANH and used matte paintings to fill in the rest. )

All I did last night was configuring my router's WPA/WPA2 settings, and fool around with it's MAC filter. And watched television. We have The Tick running here at midnight. BUT I'M NOT A GEEK!

I watched The Producers on HBO with my parents and sister, had some bad red wine, then played Caesar IV until four in the morning when my parents raised a ruckus because the damn dog pissed on the carpet in my parents closet. I took her outside in the rain to then go home and not fall asleep until 5 in the morning. A very fun evening/morning, over all.

Hope everyone's past week or so was full of fun! Christmas was actually pretty decent. My sister was out in Ohio with her fiancee for Christmas, and Christmas Day was held at my cousins house upstate (for some strange reason). So rather than spend 6 hours driving from Long Island to Nowheresville abd then 4 hours back to my home that night, it was a quiet meal with my rents and my girlfriend. It was a very nice time, and was actually one of the best Christmas' ever. We spent the night watching "It's A Wonderful Life" (a very fine holiday film) and ate a nice dinner. Egads! There's a wasp flying in my room, hovering by my skylight. Crazy stuff. Anyways, New Years Eve was a "blah" this year. We were down in South Carolina with my girlfriend's family. The weather was wonderful, but it was kinda lame, since we spent the whole night playing Monopoly and Uno. We both agreed that her parents are lame, and we will never do that again.

@Mad: All I can say is "holy crud!!!"

Your feeble skills are no match for the power of the Dark Side!
