Yes, I know that I am the one who asks these variety of questions far too much and, generally, the one who regrets it the most. At any rate, here is my question: Are .ogm files alterable only in adding subtitles, or is it also possible to change the audio feature if that is included as an option. Such as, say, a video clip which was ripped from a DVD (It's short and not worth anything- I just want to know if I can play it in English!)

 

At any rate: I already checked Wikipedia (It was how I got the files to play in the first place!) and was just wondering. It says that it has variable audio features, and I wasn't sure if that strictly meant MP3, MP4, etc. formats or if it meant language as well.

Sure, multiple audio tracks means it can have more than one language

Woo hoo! Okeedokee- erm, do you have a website that explains how to change these multiple audio features? I checked the wiki links and didn't see them, but I wasn't terrifically thoughrough... Turns out I did some homework the wrong way and, well, long story short, I should be in word right now, not on the internet...

What program are you using to rip? I know DVD2SVCD has an audio selection feature, DVD Shrink has been recommended to me but I'm not sure what features it has.

Are you actually looking to extract a perticular sequence Tofu?

Not really. It's forty-nine individual ogm files, all of which are in Japanese. I'm using the lazyman's tech guide to play them on Windows Media Player, and would really like to convert them to English audio... Well, truth be told, I downloaded 'em once and deleted them once I found out that they were in Japanese... Then I found out that OGM files have variable audio features and, if all else fails, subtitles in differant languages.

The OGM files themselves may not have had other audio tracks. I believe there's an option in Windows Media Player to change switch audio tracks, I don't really know exactly. I'm using Media Player Classic with the K-lite codecs.

On a semi-related note (And this is just curiosity talking) anyone know too much about ogg files? I did some research and apparently they're designed such that they can be fused with other files of any type, pretty much...

They are designed as a wrapper for various encodings of video and audio. Not as known as the standard .mpg or .avi files, but it's usually great quality and features. I don't know if standard DVD players will play them though

Okay, next semi-problem. I can view data files that I found on my computer in realplayer format, but I'd prefer to watch them on a DVD player. What are the files that a DVD player reads called, and how do I convert real files to files a DVD player can read?

I haven't found a free product that will convert from Realmedia to other formats. But I'm sure there must be something out there

i found a converter for my avi files to play on my Ipod called Videora I think.. Im not at home where the program is... anyways, i remember they had other conversion programs that i ignored but maybe you could start there? the one i have is a descent program.

In the end... it's really just much more easy to get the free membership at starship and rent your porn than trying to convert divx and realplayer files to DVD...
