BadSamaritan Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 I drive an overblown forklift in a giant icebox. At work, I am referred to as the 'freezer rat'. I also work on computers on the side as a hobby. I once knew a great man. Nothing got to him, and he always smiled. May he forever rest in peace, knowing fully well that his freinds shall remember him.
carrieofthewest Posted March 25, 2006 Author Posted March 25, 2006 haha! you're a rodent! actually, rats are cute, so you should be known as the ugly freezer rat! haha! I know, not very funny The Bunny Princess

Krytos Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 Taking this thread back on topic, my current job is laughable and doesn't deserve a mention due to it's utter crapness However, I am trying to get into the 3D modelling Industry - either within the gaming market, movies or independant contracting.I almost had one such job a week ago. But, I ended up dropping the job because it was simply asking for more time than I could commit due to my lifestyle and University studies. So, alas, I'm still waiting for my next big break into the modelling world where I can get paid for what I do (Excuse any typos, I'm a bit tired after chopping wood . . . I really need to get back into shape ) http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://img152.imageshack.us/img152/1333/3dartistbanneranimationws1.gifhttp://img154.imageshack.us/img154/4026/rebellionbannerdi2.gif
Mitth_raw_nuruodo Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 I work as a college student. It's not a job per say, but it is what I fill in anytime someone asks for my occupation. Master_Xan Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 I'm with Krytos, my job is pretty laughable and crappy. I've mentioned it around here somewhere, I'm a salesman for Radio Shack. Very boring, though I have learned quite a bit about the products and human behavior. It will be some time before I get into my career, I still have a 2 year mission and college to get through. I'm planning something in computers, but so far I haven't been able to narrow it down any more then that. Star Wars: Rebellion, A Field Manual"O be wise, what can I say more?"

Master_Xan Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 I've actually beta tested several games before, and its not that bad. As long as the game is decent, you can get into it and then you don't mind some of the repetition. Being an alpha tester would be worse in some respects, (more bugs and more repetition), but being paid would be a nice incentive, and as an alpha tester you have more control over the outcome and correcting of problems... I can't tell you how many times I'd catch an error in the beta stage and it would never be corrected. In alpha, you actually talk to the developers, and I imagine some companies might even give you access to the code itself for minor tweaks. I'd actually like to have that job myself... although I don't think I'd do well as a developer. Maybe a concept/storyline guy, but not the one who has to sit down every day and crank out code for 8 hours. Star Wars: Rebellion, A Field Manual"O be wise, what can I say more?"
