I did not feel bad for the american girl who was snowboarding tonight (the boardercross??), who was winning, went over the last jomp, and did a hotdog trick, landed and fell right on her butt, and lost. Still got a silver metal but lost to a swedish person (I think, red flag, white cross). I had to laugh, thats what she gets for showing off.

I admit the country's names are resemblant.

The swiss over here are really chuffed. What with their ice skater getting silver and that gold for Snowboarding.

About the snowboarder: just goes to show that you shouldn't show off while racing in an olympic competition.

Yeah, very impressive. I had it figured that Canada would get the gold, but then there's the Swiss with the upset. Makes you realize that the pro-NHL players are NOT all powerful in this tournament (I think Canada has 23-24 on their team, while the Swiss have 3).

Wow, somebody beat Canada? I'm impressed... I really must find the time to watch the Olympics sometime... Just seems that every time I do so curling is the event and two people with brushes are trying desperately to clear the way for the curling iron...

Curling isn't all that bad. It is far more entertaining than some of the summer games.

 

That, and if you think about it, Curling takes a lot more skill than one would first think.

They deserved it though. The Canadian mens team has been playing poorly since they got to Italy. Maybe this'll wake 'em up a bit.

I think the mens team neaded that beating. They've not been playing up-to-par the last little while, but have been getting cockey because of the span in goals between them and their opponents. This should be a good kick in the pants.

I find most of the winter games watchable, where I won't suffer a severe case of boredom. The summer games, on the other hand, are real yawners.

Canada losing to the Swiss and Finland 2-0 both games. Ouch, ya that's a real kick in the rearend alright. Seems to have woken them up a bit though, last I heard it was 2-0 for Canada over the Czechs. On a really good note though not too much of a surprise the Canadian womens' hockey team won gold. Yay.
