BrianLara Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 i have now downloaded rebed 4 times and it has not worked once. these are the problems i am having: - when i install rebed it goes through the wizard, i install it then when it says its finished i click on the icon and it gives me "do you want to install?" - i dont know how rebed works yet so i tried to open it in conjuction with rebellion... nothing. this is very frustrating, just tell me if i am doing something wrong because i can be an idiot, but i do know a little about computers. also is there any multiplayer action goin on at all these days? ive been leaving messages on the boards and sending emails... nothing
budious Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 I have had problems getting it to work recently too. It is really outdated, as much as the guys here mod I don't why they haven't reversed engineered it and made a newer version yet. BrianLara Posted February 9, 2006 Author Posted February 9, 2006 frustrating, and i havent had any replies from moderators or people who are suppose to help members of this board. i will continue to wait. budious, you ever play multiplayer? how is it done these days?
budious Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 Yeah... I use to be in top 20 in ranks back in the day when 100s of the people used to play this game online. I haven't played multiplayer in years... but I'd still take all the fun out of it for you. SWR Staff - Executive Evaders99 Posted February 9, 2006 SWR Staff - Executive Posted February 9, 2006 Uhuh. You haven't said anything exactly of the problems you are having. Calm down. We are not screwing the "26,083" people that have downloaded RebED, or this site would not be here. Budious, we haven't been able to duplicate the card system that RebED uses. If you can, go for it. BrianLara Posted February 9, 2006 Author Posted February 9, 2006 that topic was more to grab your attention than anything evaders. like i said before, when i download rebed, all i receive is the help file and readme, i dont actually receive the editing tool. When i try to open the rebed setup it installs, then when it is finished installing it wont open and continues to offer to install. any thoughts? also is there any active multiplayer goin on any more? i cant find any
budious Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 Budious, we haven't been able to duplicate the card system that RebED uses. If you can, go for it. I'd have no idea where to start... I've only had a few basic programming classes and never really payed that much attention during those I wasn't sure if it was possible to reverse engineer the program and extract the data engine, fill in the gaps and build a new GUI. Something modern like a web browser with tabs for each category, etc. If I was into the modding scene I might have some initiative to give it a go... but I'm not. I just like to throw ideas out there for those who are "In the future it will become easier for old negatives to become lost and be 'replaced' by new altered negatives. AdmiralToguroAni Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 You guys aren't giving us a lot of incentive to help you out here, but I'll see if theres a couple potential problems: Is your Rebellion game installed into C: Program Files\Lucasarts\STAR WARS Rebellion? Thats what Rebed looks for, and if its not there, it will give you some weird message in french when you try to access the cards. Did you do a complete install? If not, make sure the CD is inside. Also, remember that cards can only be edited if theres a full install. Count Dooku is the strongest Star Wars character as depicted in the movies. All hail Christopher Lee.
BrianLara Posted February 9, 2006 Author Posted February 9, 2006 thanks i will try and get back to you

Darth_Rob Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 I had trouble installing RebEd when I first came to the site, but it ended up that my prob was that i didn't have the full install of Rebellion. That's probably the ticket. And if you give them a chance to get around to the question, the web masters are quite helpful. http://www.swrebellion.com/forums/postp59326.html&highlight=#59326 Your feeble skills are no match for the power of the Dark Side! WraithOne Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 like i said before, when i download rebed, all i receive is the help file and readme, i dont actually receive the editing tool. I think I might know your problem. Are you trying to run the program through the start menu? If you are the installation doesn't put the executable shortcut there. You need to go into the rebed folder found in the program files folder on your hard drive(or wherever you installed it). The exe is in there.
