DarthTofu Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 Well they aren't infringing the law. ...Are you sure? Some stuff might have been abandoned, such as the Indiana Jones games, but I can't see LucasArts giving anything up without... Well, actually I just can't see them giving anything up period They're annoying like that. 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
SWR Staff - Executive Evaders99 Posted December 31, 2005 SWR Staff - Executive Posted December 31, 2005 Mad, you may want to see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AbandonwareThe term has no legal meaning. This means that labeling any kind of software 'abandonware' does not make it legal to distribute it. Unless put in the public domain, any and all abandonware remains covered under copyright law. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copyright_infringement Evaders99http://swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif Webmasterhttp://swrebellion.com/images/banners/swcicuserbar.png Administrator Fighting is terrible, but not as terrible as losing the will to fight.- SW:Rebellion Network - Evaders Squadron Coding -The cake is a lie.
Mad78 Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 No, what i mean is that they clearly say when you are going to unzip that you must be owner of the original and that they offer the game only for backup purposes. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
DarthTofu Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 No, what i mean is that they clearly say when you are going to unzip that you must be owner of the original and that they offer the game only for backup purposes. Still, dishonest people ( ) can upload the games onto their compy without having actually bought it in the first place. Too bad Rebellion isn't on there 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
SWR Staff - Executive Evaders99 Posted December 31, 2005 SWR Staff - Executive Posted December 31, 2005 LucasArts is pretty aggressive in enforcing their copyright for Star Wars. Heck, you can't even post the music from their SW games. DarthTofu Posted January 1, 2006 Posted January 1, 2006 Dangit, you can't play Rebel Assault with a Joystick from this century I managed to beat the first part of level one before I crashed and burned on the ground in target practice. My danged joystick isn't being picked up by the stupid compy even though it claims it was installed! Now what am I gonna do for New Years? 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Mad78 Posted January 1, 2006 Posted January 1, 2006 I think there was a prog that allows you to emulate old joysticks. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance

Lord_La_forge Posted January 1, 2006 Author Posted January 1, 2006 Why do I have a feeling that their site is gonna be shut down by Lucas real soon... There is a fair chance for that. However, it's interesting, that this site only hosts Sierra and Lucas games. It's unlikely, that LucasArts is fully aware of this sites content. Sites like "Home of the Underdogs" do not host Lucasgames at all (ok there are 2-3 games hosted on it.) Probably, we are not the ones who could decide, what is legal and what is not. But I really like this site
