deXtoRious Posted February 26, 2003 Posted February 26, 2003 I can't import models into Rebellion, because ResHack crashes whenever I try. Is there any other problprogram that can do the same? "You do not have to understand, just obey" - Grand Admiral Thrawn
Jahled Posted February 26, 2003 Posted February 26, 2003 ...emmm...interesting...please be a bit more detailed! At what stage does it crash? Let us know step by step from the moment you open up the zip file with ResHacker.... http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
deXtoRious Posted February 26, 2003 Author Posted February 26, 2003 I load tactical.dll, find the model I want to change, do everything as mask's tutorial says (all the values and stuff) and ppress replace. At that moment, ResHack stops responding. I'm using WinXP, maybe that' got smth. to do with it... "You do not have to understand, just obey" - Grand Admiral Thrawn
Jahled Posted February 26, 2003 Posted February 26, 2003 Anybody else experianced problems with resource hacker on Windows WP? I use Windows 2000 professional. http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
deXtoRious Posted February 26, 2003 Author Posted February 26, 2003 Is it possible to import models using eXeScope or any other tool? "You do not have to understand, just obey" - Grand Admiral Thrawn
deXtoRious Posted February 28, 2003 Author Posted February 28, 2003 PLEASE HELP ME!!! I really want to try the ESSD! "You do not have to understand, just obey" - Grand Admiral Thrawn
Jahled Posted February 28, 2003 Posted February 28, 2003 My humble suggestion would be to download it again. If the problem still persists I guess is a software problem. Does anybody else use Windows XP with Resource Hacker? http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
UntimelyDemise Posted February 28, 2003 Posted February 28, 2003 ~~Untimely raises his hand~~ That would be me. I'm an XP user, and I've not had any troubles with Resource Hacker. Sometimes I think I should go find an old Win95 machine, dust it off, and use it for Rebellion! Nobody ever had any problems running anything on Win95... Jahled Posted February 28, 2003 Posted February 28, 2003 ...emmm...I presume you've extracted the Eclipse .x file into your Rebellion/Supremacy main folder? http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
deXtoRious Posted February 28, 2003 Author Posted February 28, 2003 No, but I specified the correct directory in ResHack. Does it matter? "You do not have to understand, just obey" - Grand Admiral Thrawn

ElvisMiggell Posted March 5, 2003 Posted March 5, 2003 It shouldn't do, but try it in the main folder anyways and see if that helps... Elvismiggell. Strike me down and i will become more powerful than you can ever imagine... Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Jahled Posted March 7, 2003 Posted March 7, 2003 I think everybody's got the 1033 version, whether Rebellion or Supremacy. http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
the_mask Posted March 7, 2003 Posted March 7, 2003 Good to know that finally I'm using it on XP with my laptop and with 2k professional on my 'big pc', I also just installed 98SE as a secondary OS a while ago. No probs there. -Do you hear your harddrive working/rattling after you press replace ? -The tactical.dll is not write-protected ? -Did you try a fresh tactical.dll from the cd (again with write-prot. off) ? http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
deXtoRious Posted March 8, 2003 Author Posted March 8, 2003 Hard drive is idle after the crash. Tactical.dll is not write-protected and I have tried replacing it from CD. Anyy more ideas? "You do not have to understand, just obey" - Grand Admiral Thrawn
deXtoRious Posted March 28, 2003 Author Posted March 28, 2003 I tried it on Win2000. After I click "replace", the program freezes for a couple of minutes and then shows that all is done. That is if the file is <1mb. If it's a large file, the program just stops. I'll try on WinXP tonight again... "You do not have to understand, just obey" - Grand Admiral Thrawn
the_mask Posted March 28, 2003 Posted March 28, 2003 Hmmm..... it can't be an installation prob with Resource Hacker, cause you don't have to install it and if your pc behaves normally during the rest of time you use it and no unexplained crashes during games or other programs are happening, then I don't know what else it can be. Sorry. Anyone else with things I missed ? http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
EnsignAckbar Posted April 9, 2003 Posted April 9, 2003 I have used and am using ResHacker on Win95 / Win98 / Win98SE / WinXP without any problems.
Trejiuvanat Posted April 10, 2003 Posted April 10, 2003 I use it on Me without any problems. http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
piojitoewok Posted April 10, 2003 Posted April 10, 2003 ewww.. windows ME... anyways Ok right click on the executable file, and go to the compatibility tab, then try running with different modes like win98 or 95. im runnign XP right now and i have no problems with it, try downloading a different model and if it still happens then it might be that when you downloaded reshacker that it messed up a bit or tew, try redownloading it If i had a nickel for everytime i listened to you, I'd be in debt.
