Jahled Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 Right, I reckon the programing for stuff like the natural disaster in the game is in the GDATA folder on the game's disk, not what is installed on the HD. I say this with complete inexperiance of programing experiance/knowledge, but just by being curious as to some of the GDATA folder names; they seem to be tab close to game structures Resource Hacker doesn't seem to find. They are .dat files, and that is where my internet searching sadly ended. Any of you lot know how to read and translate a .dat file? One of these files might be the solution to the most hated aspect of the game. http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
Mad78 Posted November 20, 2005 Posted November 20, 2005 I did a little google search and found this:DAT files (.dat) DAT files are data files, usually comma delimited, that contain data in ASCII format. These files are able to be open in a variety of programs including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Notepad. Hope it helps http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance

Zer_Teron Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 He means to translate it i think, all i get when i open it is a series of random dots and stuff http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/3488/zersigef1.jpg
Jahled Posted November 27, 2005 Author Posted November 27, 2005 He means to translate it i think, all i get when i open it is a series of random dots and stuff This is exactly what I was on about, and the mixture of my complete lack of knowledge concerning these file types, anything vaguely similar, and a combination of both when I did a web search sort of didn't get me very far... Any of you guys know how to translate it? No more natural disasters anyone? EDIT: Once we know where the command is for when the computor checks for a natural disaster, we can alter it say to every 10,000 days, and err... lower the new resources found to every hundred days, for example... http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
