While I don't use GMax, it is a shame that it's being cancelled. As a free modelling program, it was great - utilised a lot of features used by 3ds max for basic modelling, was only like 30Mb. It only had a few faults - couldn't render and didn't get any of the newer benifits of later 3ds max versions.

AutoDesk does have a legitamet reason at least for discontinuing the product - still, it'll be missed.

 

 

On a side note - for those interested in the world of 3d modelling - here's some relatively ground breaking news:

Autodesk is going to own Alias! What's does the future hold for 3ds Max and Maya then? Will one disappear? Will both be continued as if nothing happened? Will both cease to exist and in place a new and far more powerful 3d program fills the gap?
