DarthTex Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 If anyone has looked lately, the membership count is close approaching 4000! That seems like a huge number to me (at least). I'm wondering, out of ~4000 members what is the average number of posts? What kind of tracking/data is available on users (i.e. how many times they have logged in, when is the last time they posted, etc.). I'm going to guess that most of these "members" don't hang around long (at least of what I can see from reading the forums, who posts & who doesn't). Occasionally there are some new names, but currently there are (I'm guessing here) about 2 dozen who post somewhat regularly. I'm just curious about all of the "missing" brethen and where they might be? Is there a "directory" of members to see who they are, when they last dropped in, and all of that good stuff. The curiosity bug has bitten me. Inquiring minds want to know. Finally, after years of hard work I am the Supreme Sith Warlord! Muwhahahaha!! What?? What do you mean "there's only two of us"?
DarthTofu Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 Curiosity bug! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh! N()()()()()()()()000000000000000000oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooos!!!!!!!1oneperiod.Questionmarksemicolan;?colanquotationmarks:"apostrophe' That bug has a highly contagous venom and has been known to slaughter thousands of cats in a holocaust we have not heard of since people started to use their guts in violins! On a sane note: I too am kind of curious. i myself am guilty of logging onto sites with forums, posting frequently for two or three weeks, and then completely forgetting about the forums the next. This one I only remember because 1: There's nothing to do in drafting and 2: I can the nice, idiot-proof E-mail notifications on my topics! 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away

DarthTex Posted October 12, 2005 Author Posted October 12, 2005 The 4,000th member has joined today (2005/10/12)! Welcome 3nn! (he/she is number 4000) Finally, after years of hard work I am the Supreme Sith Warlord! Muwhahahaha!! What?? What do you mean "there's only two of us"?
BadSamaritan Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 There's nothing to do in drafting Architectual or Mechenical drafting? And are you using Drafting papaer, or a nifty program like AutoCAD? I majored in both during highschool, and I always found something to do. Hence the reason I have a fully drawn out castle sitting in my bedroom, along with a badly rendered X-Wing. I once knew a great man. Nothing got to him, and he always smiled. May he forever rest in peace, knowing fully well that his freinds shall remember him.
General_Crespin Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 Darth Tofu mentioned this place to me just the other day... I should have joined then! EDIT: Okay, I see the 4000th was today. Ah well. http://crespin.xwlegacy.net/pics/Shadowkeeper99a.jpg
DarthTofu Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 Hey, Crespin! Glad to see you joined! And as for drafting its computer software. Currently I only know how to use AutoCAD 2005 and AutoCAD invetner. I built a rather poor looking boat in inventer just because it's easier to draw in that program, and I've made my name (First, middle, and last) in autoCAD 2005 (All extruded, too). Maybe programs are just too easy nowdays... though now I deffinately have to try making my own starfighters! 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away

DarthTofu Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 NOpe. The topic sort of died in robotics I don't get it- one meeting its top priority to get a big sponcership, the next, nobody cares and we're selling these stupid $6 horses. 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Mad78 Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 the next, nobody cares and we're selling these stupid $6 horses. What do they look like And why the hell do you have to sell them. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
DarthTofu Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 It costs, like, 3,000 bucks or more for us to go to competitions. The horses are a way to raise money. Jahled Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 How many other PC games released during the last century still have a similar following, with sites such as this? On a more specialized note, how many Star Wars titles have stayed there holding power? I'm just thinking, but remove flashy graphics and open the door for the imagination, and you get a timeless title? The ingame movies are still are top-notch(ish). http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
Thrawn90 Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 Ugh. Tofu, I, too, am involved in my school's Robotics club and I know how grueling it can be to raise all of the necessary funds. My Robotics club can hardly sell anything, cause when a club is selling something (ie. any type of candy) then no other club can sell it. This is made especially hard cause our school budget was voted down... twice in a row. Big cuts to the Robotics budget have made it unlikely that my team will make it to even a Regional this year, let alone the Nationals... and this was our year.
Defender_16 Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 Well Jahled we still have to see how long the HALO and CSS craze(s) keep up. They've both been going for awhile now. Hopefully the Rebellion following keeps going. Why if anything, I'd say the game is more popular now than it was 3 years ago. I was wondering, should we all PM this 3nn person to say hello and say how lucky they are to get number 4000 ?
DarthTofu Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 No. We should all say "You bastard, you took the number 4000 spot!!! I wanted it!!!!" Just kidding, Mr. 3NN. Welcome to the site, and enjoy it! On a side note, I can sympathise with you, Thrawn. Cheerleaders seem to have a natural ability to know when I'm doing fund raising stuff- they automatically start selling exact same thing, and they don't even procrastinate! 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away

DarthTex Posted November 15, 2005 Author Posted November 15, 2005 Holy Guacamole! There must be an error with the membership number ... it's currently at 5160! It was only a month ago when the 4000th person signed up. That must be a record increase! Oh nevermind, ... it's the clones. They're all signing up Maybe Evaders can look into this Finally, after years of hard work I am the Supreme Sith Warlord! Muwhahahaha!! What?? What do you mean "there's only two of us"?

DarthTex Posted March 13, 2006 Author Posted March 13, 2006 It's been awhile, but since reading Jahled's Emm... post, my curiosity piqued. As of mid-November 2005 'til now (5558-5160 = 398), ~400 new members have signed up (that's ~100 per month on average). Where are all these new members? Apparently they're here for something other than participating in the forums (maybe it's too intimidating? ) Warlords mod? Model downloads? RebEd download? (*** knocks on computer screen ***) "Hello? You ... the new members who just joined. Drop a line and say 'Hi', we won't bite (I hope )" ... Finally, after years of hard work I am the Supreme Sith Warlord! Muwhahahaha!! What??
