Question

Didn't know where to put this--

Have played SWR for a long time, am a complete noob in the mod/card department, but untampered...I can play in my sleep no matter what. This question though popped in my head the other night while I was playing--Does anyone by any chance know the math formula for ship repair rates? I am playing a game limiting myself to corvettes and xwings only and got trumped. They are now sitting above Svivren with only Coruscant left to go in that sector...and things are give and take in the others. Just wondering how long I have.

Thanks all.

It depends on how many friendly shipyards are on the planet, it goes faster. If above hostile planet in blockade, it won't repair. If on friendly planet without shipyards, repairs take more time.

Via RebED you can see the stats of repair time, but there is not a firm time like: 2 minutes for a so-so corvette or anything.

That time seems off though...cause Svivren had seven shipyards....my fleet (or what was left of it) consisted of 9 corvettes, two bulkies, and a escort carrier, empty lol), and it took A LONG time to repair them....I still have one bulkie to go. Wish I knew how long each component took to repair (hyperdrive, shields, weapons recharge, etc.), but oh well...no biggie I guess...if anyone wants to comment on general repair processes they've noticed in their games that would be cool. Thx.

Well, I don't know if this helps, but I think that the shipyards start repairs on the cheapest ships first, since they aparently get repaired faster... All I got for you- no RebED here- I'm a traditionalist... It's not that I'm just too lazy to instal it on a computer with internet access and download it. lol.

The shipyard needs to be idle for fastest repair times as well. You also need a have positive refined materials so it isn't having to stall waiting for free materials from your other building projects.

When you say positive refined materials--you just mean money in the bank right? No worries there....I very rarely go below 500. As far as the other post, I am a traditionalist as well...although I am considering installing the protectorate. Its just that having empty shipyards, especially in this case, when I had seven, at that point in the game, seems a waste. LOL

Surplus (unused) refined materials are listed next to the picture of the refinery. I believe you have them confused with maintenance points  . Of course, if you do have 500+ refined materials then you aren't building anything (or are very close to capturing the entire galaxy with a plethora of mines/refineries and ending the game). I almost never have surplus refined materials 'til the game is near over (when it's obvious I'm going to win so why build more ships if the enemy doesn't even have a fleet?).

Because they aren't there yet. Sort of like that Everest quote. Personally I tend to have well over 2000 maintenance points without cpturing the galaxy in a game. I just turn it over to my droid and voila! Eighty-billion mines and refineries.

I personally have been taking lessons form the droid, instead of letting him do it himslef entirely...I hit 3000 maintenance points and pretty much stay there for the res of the game. As fro refined...1000 minimum. I usually have a shipyard deficit and have long since adopted the take-it-and-take-it-once philosophy of prioritizing planets to all get two GenCores (who cares abotu artillery?) on every planet before building any construction stuff.

It slows constrcution abit, but it means that I rarely ever take the same planet twice and rarely lose one. By the time my oppopnents mass a fleet big enough to start de GenCoring (if and when I let them,) its a mere matter of interposing my nearest fleet at their next target and then they are down a fleet...and only a few days later I get my planet back.

As to repairing things...I've noticed that it takes longer when you keep checking ot see if they've partially repaired, but you should check every now and again because the mroe repaired a ship is the slower it repairs...I repair most fo my ships in the battle after they get damaged.

Also, fighters on-planet repair faster than fleetbound fighters, and get increased bonuses if that planet has shipyards.
