I need a large 800x600 or 1024x768 .. basically a big screenshot of a very generic starfield shot maybe from SWG Jump to lightspeed or from a SW movie.

I need something very clean and large. No nebulas or planets or ships. Tho I can edit stuff out. :)

Anything anyone can provide would really help! Post here or email to:

If all you want is just a starfield, I could render one in 3d studio max in a matter of minutes at any size you want and modifiy it a little.

Here's a 1024x768 example

Starfield

- it's saved as a gif, though can be turned into a jpeg if needed. The size of the stars, the maximum and minium intensity can all be changed.

wow, thanks guys.

AdmiralToguroAni, I have the image already. Its from a bg pack for SW 3D stuff I think.

What I really need is a brighter blueish starfield like in the movies. Tho I can photoshop it but hoping not to have to do that work. :)

Krytos, Can you make the stars a little brighter and resolution to 1024x768 that would be great. I think I'm going to overlay what you did over another one I have.

Thanks again guys. This is for the SW:GCW project, if you were wondering.

Kryt try one thing when rerendering.

on a new material:

first press "get map" and select a background image.

make it a mix map and color one a noise map

Noise Type: Turbulence

Size: 25.0

High: 1.0

Low: 0.6

Levels: 3.0

Color #1: Make it a noise map with these settings:

Noise Type: Regular

Size: 0.1

High: 0.8

Low: 0.7

Color #1: Black

Color #2: White

Change the colors a tad to adjust the color of the stars.

And set the material as background then render.

Note: This is from a tutorial i found on the net.

Whoops, forgot about this thrad ever since I got into that debat

Tried your tutorial Mad, it coems out with practically the same thing as the video post version (however video post allows proper animations, like turning a camera and having the star field not turn - so it's not a billboard)

But, that's by the by.

I wanted to use the video post and have a glow around each star for the coouring but asn't able to get it to work well at all.

So here's a bluer version:

Uncompressed

Compressed - which adds a sort of glow effect, good 'ol jpeg compression

And a re-render of the original:

EDIT:

Figured out how to do the glowing - not looking too hot though. Got any rough pictures I can use for refrence?
