Anyone else here the news story that a former child actor from "Mighty Morphing Power Rangers" is being charged with murder, hijacking a yaght, tying the owners to the anchor and throwing them overboard? Aside from the whole killing part, I found this kinda funny. I don't know which ranger he was.

lol, it was always fun watching them run to the other end of the screen to emphasize being hit by the giant monster or whatever, and then yell "hiya!" as they hit the guys running around on the Z's. But apparentl this was a bad enough show to resourt to murder.

They didn't always explode- sometimes they just fell down. What bothered me was that they each had their own seperate vehicle and that there was never an episode where they just used the vehicles: They always used the giant Robot formation.

I never understood why sparks would flyout of a polyester suit.

Or how their tight costumes protected them of anything exept the rain.

Oh my God. I had the theme song from this show (Which I haven't watched in 7..8..9 years) pop into my head yesterday while playing halo online.

"Go, go, Power Rangers! Dooo dee dee duu duu..."

I then immediately scored several "Killtackular!"s with my sniper rifle while humming it... O M G!

I must be a Mighty Morphing Sniper Ranger! 8O

Gotta agree with you there, Rob- then there were the action figures that were made. Did anyone else not understand why they had eight different suits of armor on different action figures that never appeared on the actual show?

I just understood the marketing director was a jerk.

You got these five suits and then by some miracle you were supposed to know how to assemble them into some armor which looks exactly the same as the others but with different colors. :?

But I think all action figures go out of control. Like the Ninja Turtles. Now I loved (and still love) the Turtles. But there was like 10 versions of each Turtle. I remember one line that was called "Sewer Spittin", where each turtle filled with water and then squirt. Then there was another stupid line that had them all in "costumes" (I remember Leo was a samuari, Donatello was an undercover detective, and Mikie was a clown). But I guess that that's how marketing works. Just keep poppin them out til the whole fad dies down.

Your feeble skills are no match for the power of the Dark Side!

Action man was more than just an action figure? I always assumed that was all he ever was. You know, like GI Joe and Barbie. Not that I play with barbies or ever have, of course

No. Much much later. Like 2001.

I used to watch the show on TV for the first season.

ALEX MANN IS ACTION MAN!

It was an attempt to make a cg tv show that had "Bullet Time" moments. Big supprise, they needed to face down some evil doctor... over something. :? ...um yeah.

EDIT: So i'm thinking now that it was a remake of an earlier show. Or several earlier shows.

There's an Action Man animated movie dated 1995.

It looks like Action Man was a GI Joe-esq toy line in the UK between 1966-1984. The line came back out in 1994 but was considered a dissapointment.

The one I was thinking of was made by Mainframe Entertainment, the makers of Reboot.
