Shortcut to find Jedi Characters?

Greetings all,

I was just curious if there was any shortcuts to finding the force-sensitives present in the game other than using rebed to change the probablilties of the characters force sensitivity to 100%. I'm talking about a game in progress, after you have recruited different characters.

And does anyone else think Acbar's combat statistics are low?

Well, other than having Vader, the Emperor or Luke on the same planet, there really isn't any way to tell. The Empire has it easy since they'll find out if a character is force-sensative as soon as they are recruited. With the rebels, you have to have Luke on the same planet after he goes to Degobah.

As for Ackbar, I think they reflect him pretty well. He's only an Admiral, not a field agent. His stats are very similar to Thrawn's.

History is on the move, Captain. Those who cannot keep up with it will be left behind, to watch from a distance. And those who stand in our way will not watch at all.

Thanks for the reply. I was aware of the detection abilites of Luke & the Sith, but wanted to know if there was a text-edit or search function you could use to find Force Sensitives.

On the Acbar note, Thrawn is way better than Ackbar. Ackbar gets a base combat value of less than 10 (I think zero) with a variance of 50, Leadership of 90 variance of 10. Thrawn gets combat of 70 variance of 30, Leadership 100 variance of 30. I'm not debating that Ackbar is better than Thrawn, or vice versa, but I think Acbar is underpowered in this instance.

Gat's got a point regarding Akbar, but am I alone in always wondering what do with Bevel Lemsip once all R&D efforts have been exhausted? :?

Before that wonderous day I discovered RebEd he ended up just kinda keeping the Emperor company on Coruscant. No wonder he was a bit wierd.

The Force. If I remember correctly in unedited games you always have six minor characters who are potential force users, no more, no less.

If I'm not mistaken, the variance indicates that that particular attribute can go up or down by that value. In my experience, Thrawn's combat rating allways goes down. I've never had his start in a game with a combat rating of more than 50. Ackbar's combat rating can only go up, to a value higher than Thrawn's if Thrawn were to loose the full 30 his variance allows for.

There is also two additional factors that balance Ackbar's stats out. First off, he'll never betray his side. There are three rebel characters with this attribute, though there are no Imperials who do. There is also the fact that Ackbar can be a Jedi, where Thrawn can't (well, he can, but I've only seen it happen once). If Ackbar becomes a Jedi his stats are greatly increased. One thing that I do find off for both Thrawn and Ackbar is that they have a low diplomasy rating. I would have expected that they would both be more along the lines of Piett in that regard...

As for Lemelisk, I usually retire him when he is of no use to me, though when it turns out that he is a Jedi I tend to throw things about.

A good explanation for Lemelisk's weird behaviour... I too retire him once he's done with research, and even when he's a Jedi the stats aren't that great either. Even at Knight or Master his stats aren't that high in comparison to another average char, and spend 400 or 500 of Vader's days to train him just doesn't make sense.

6 Jedi per side? I had never known that they were a fixed number...

Which is why I use RebEd not to use Vevel Lemdip. Waste of a good character slot from which a good character can be developed! I like character development, expanding skills etc. Jevel Wimpflop is simply to pathetic to even begin to contemplate where to be begin, your Vader quote not with standing...

I found this to be consistant playing either side.

Bevel's only use when he's finished researching is to transport prisoners. With the threat of him doing unspeakable acts that even a Hutt wouldn't do, the prisoners are well behaved and you don't require an escort.

It's rumoured that the horrible slimy canivorous thing in the trash compactor on the first Death Star was Bevel's pet...

I suppose he does make a good baby sitter... though I still like him better when he's retired .

He seems the type to keep a pet dianoga too... which are apparently not carniverous, but omnivourous (sp?)

if it tries to eat me i'd say it's pretty carnivarous

i've never gotten a message saying any char has been discovered as force sensitive. i even tried dumping them all on the same planet with luke after seeing yoghurt

I played an unedited multiplayer game with Valkir (he hasn't been on in awhile) and the Rebels (me) had nine Jedi (including Luke & Leia) while the Empire only had four. He was pissed. I don't remember which characters they were, though.

Five of the Greatest Lines in the Star Wars Trilogy ;)

-"As you wish..."

-"He's no good to me dead..."

-"What if he doesn't survive? He's worth a lot to me."

-"Put Captain Solo in the Cargo Hold"

-"AaaaaAAaaaaaa!!"

Jedi characters other than Luke, Leia, Vader and the Emperor never seem to fight each other in one to one duels. That is rather disappointing because it could make for good gameplay if you have Jedi duels and the characters go up in force ranking just like Luke does when he fights Vader or the Emperor. They only seem to use their Jedi abilities to detect traitors, which is not much.

Jahled, it is your fault that Bluvis Kamkok isn't of much value after he's done researching...

You should have defeated most Rebels by that time, so ALL your characters are becoming useless, old, slow, and stay at home (planet). So that's why.

Z'anthr saves the world. Sorry about the mess...
