XQ2 Starbase Card v.2

 

For any of you who have downloaded the original XQ2 card, i now apologize :oops: I fogot to check the images for the blue tint. This has now been rectified and a new .rsc created. However after battling with the uploads section for 20 minutes i have now given up and will host the new card (in zip format) on my domain.

 

For those interested the zip file with the new version can be downloaded from > XQ2 v.2 zip

 

The model to go with the card can be downloaded from the following > XQ2 Model

Darth Griffin, what have you done with the station's antistarfighter laser cannon?

 

My Golan IIIs seem to be about as accurate as Imperial Stormtroopers in the movies. :?

Put an overpowered Solar Ionization Reactor in between two cheap-ass engines and a couple of laser cannon, put a chair with a rudimentary flight control and targeting computer on top, and surround the (unpressurized!) pilot with enough armor plate so he doesn't fry in a tenth of a second... riiiiiiiiight

The Golan III in my game has an anti-starfighter laser capacity of 150 allround. My XQ2 station has a laser capacity of 100 allround. The main idea is that the Golan III is not available until much later in the game.

My guess would be that neither one of them will be very effective against starfighters then.

No, to a degree they wont be. However i decided not to make them too invincible as the Empire was renown for poor anti-starfighter ships. Making the stations too powerful would have destroyed the feel of the game and made it too easy to repell attacks.

 

I did toy with increasing the GIII to 300 though at one point. Who knows i may increase it after i have played a few games and decided. Always difficult to be dure when you are testing it yourself as you well know i expect :)

Yeh you really do need people with different play styles to test it out. :?

It's not so much that as it is me. I follow everything step-by-step, I just can't get any models to work. Odds are, though, that I'll be contacting you in the future. :twisted:

V3 of the XQ2 Starbase card will be completed by the end of this week. I have been testing the playability of the given levels and believe that they need 'tweaking'. Once i am happy with the tests i will create the new card :)
