Actually it's a non-animated jpg. I couldn't think of anything, but liked the image netherless. Perhaps it needs a Koala or a Mercat or something...

That it certainly would! This is a very good example of what personally can't get 100% right. In photoshop i've figured the blending options with inner/outer glow etc, and the obvious transparency the author used, but can't figure the edge-glow effect* A2-D2's holographic 'beam' is obviously noise, by that option, altered slightly over ten or so frames....

Open an image in Photoshop.

Cut out the bit you want to be the hologram and paste it in a new layer.

Now create a new picture with settings of: 2 pixels in height and one across

Make the top pixel black and leave the bottom one white. Now press Edit>set as pattern

Now go back to the first pic. Change the Hue and saturation to get the hologram-blue shade.

NOw press Layer> Add layer clipping path> Reveal all

Select the pattern wejust made and click ok

Thankiness muchos for the advise dude! I've just spent five hours in photoshop and now need a few beers. I got somewhere and got derailed at the clipping path bit. Large program is Photoshop.... Lots to learn...
