Senator_Elegos_A-Kla Posted January 3, 2003 Posted January 3, 2003 Now, with the special forces, there needs to be a few changes, but not many. New Republic Guerillas - New Republic Special Forces (Like Katarn's Commandos & Kapp Dendo's Commandos etc.)Infiltrators - Alpha Blue (Possibly - Infiltrators don't exist in the timeframe)Bothan Spies - New Republic IntelligenceLongprobe Y-Wing - Recon X-Wing (Or maybe New Republic Ferrets & Prowlers) Galactic Empire Espionage Droid - Same (New Pic & Stats maybe)Noghri Death Commandos - Same (New Pic & Stats maybe)Probe Droid - Same (New Pic & Stats maybe)Commandos - Same (New Pic & Stats maybe - Change name to SpecNav Forces possibly) Does anyone else have any ideas? Senator Elegos A-Kla
ElvisMiggell Posted January 3, 2003 Posted January 3, 2003 Sounds good to me, i could even give you a good argument as to why you're right to keep the Noghri with the Imps. - Cloning, C'Baoth or Thrawn only had to clone a few that would remain loyal to him. And the Rebels never really used them in whole units, some were personal bodyguards for Organa-Solo, but most just stayed on Noghri. Elvismiggell. Strike me down and i will become more powerful than you can ever imagine... Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Guest JediIgor Posted January 3, 2003 Posted January 3, 2003 Honoghr maybe? That looks like a really good list, but can anyone think of any other special forces that existed in the Star Wars timeframe? Just incase we want to replace any of those?
ElvisMiggell Posted January 8, 2003 Posted January 8, 2003 Um, yeah, Honoghr, that's what i meant! Kapp Dendo's Commando's, or Page's? Slicers for espionage. If the Wraiths went over to Intell instead of Fleet, would Intell have made up more similar units? Elvismiggell. Strike me down and i will become more powerful than you can ever imagine... Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
TK421 Posted January 10, 2003 Posted January 10, 2003 Are there research levels for the Special Forces? Then you could have the Noghri for the NR too.. in time. Pages commando's are far more known than Kap Dendo's. I think slicers is quite a good idea for intelligence. Someone a pic of that geek of Karrde with some computers or something? Z'anthr saves the world. Sorry about the mess...
ElvisMiggell Posted January 10, 2003 Posted January 10, 2003 No, unfortunately you start off with all your 'special' units available. Elvismiggell. Strike me down and i will become more powerful than you can ever imagine... Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
TK421 Posted January 11, 2003 Posted January 11, 2003 BLAST this is why I hate Special Forces Z'anthr saves the world. Sorry about the mess...
Tsunami Posted January 11, 2003 Posted January 11, 2003 I'd say Dendo's. Page was a little more than a lieutenant at that time, so Dendo (was he colonel in Isards Revenge?) seems more logical to me. It's all hopeless but otherwise not very dramatic. - Helme Haffax Englishman: "What do you think of Modern Civilization?"Mahatma Gandhi: "That would be a good idea."
TK421 Posted January 12, 2003 Posted January 12, 2003 I say Page. In all books I read I never read about Dendo. Page was in more books Z'anthr saves the world. Sorry about the mess...
Trejiuvanat Posted January 12, 2003 Posted January 12, 2003 Kapp appeared more in the X-W Comics, in books he only appeared in Isard's Revenge here he leads a Noghri commadno team to rescue the prisoners.Page is better known than Kapp. Too bad we cannot set a research order on the SpecForces. http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
ElvisMiggell Posted January 14, 2003 Posted January 14, 2003 Page is also a character, though Dendo isn't..... Elvismiggell. Strike me down and i will become more powerful than you can ever imagine... Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
the_mask Posted January 14, 2003 Posted January 14, 2003 Tk, look at Trejiuvanat's page (www32.brinkster.com/trejiuvanat/), he's got a card for Ghent there. My usual question that I throw into many discussions lately : do we have pictures for either Page or Kapp Dendo ? http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
ElvisMiggell Posted January 15, 2003 Posted January 15, 2003 There is a card in the game for Page, and i think that both Page and Dendo have pictures in Sansweet's Encyclopaedia. Elvismiggell. Strike me down and i will become more powerful than you can ever imagine... Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
the_mask Posted January 15, 2003 Posted January 15, 2003 Hey, I just ordered the new 'Essential guide to characters' for 25€, so what new book is this ? Are there also good pictures in it ? http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
the_mask Posted January 15, 2003 Posted January 15, 2003 Ok, Amazon found it as well (ISBN: 0345402278), but this one costs 50€ ! Too much for this poor student http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
Guest JediIgor Posted January 16, 2003 Posted January 16, 2003 Hey, I just ordered the new 'Essential guide to characters' for 25€, so what new book is this ? Are there also good pictures in it ? The book itself isn't that new, it's just that they reprint it (seemingly) every few years with updated information. I'd also check out the Essential Guide to Races, it has some nice pics of Yuuzhan Vong and their technology (yammosks, coralskippers, etc).
TK421 Posted January 17, 2003 Posted January 17, 2003 It only has blueprints, doesn't it? Z'anthr saves the world. Sorry about the mess...
ElvisMiggell Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 Anyone know where i can get them online at a decent price because my local bookshops don't seem to stock them. Elvismiggell. Strike me down and i will become more powerful than you can ever imagine... Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
the_mask Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 Well I bought it Amazon, cause all the bookshop-keepers in a 20km radius around the place where I live nearly got mad when I tried to get 'Cracken's Threat Dossier' (WEG) from them. Igor, the essential guide to characters will have to be enough for a while, since my funds are not that great ... hmmm .... typical student problem it seems http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
ElvisMiggell Posted January 23, 2003 Posted January 23, 2003 Hmm, i do have funds, it's whether i can afford to spend them or not, ill pop onto Amazon at some point and have a look. Elvismiggell. Strike me down and i will become more powerful than you can ever imagine... Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Guest JediIgor Posted January 23, 2003 Posted January 23, 2003 The book(s) with the blue prints would have to be either Essential Guide to Star Wars Ships, Essential Guide to Star Wars Vehicles, or most likely both. Mask, it's okay -- I haven't seen the latest edition but if it has even any Vong in it I'm sure it was money well spent.
the_mask Posted January 23, 2003 Posted January 23, 2003 The cover says it has everything from EP1, EP2, ... to even the NJO http://images-eu.amazon.com/images/P/0345449002.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg Now if Amazon would just deliver ... http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
ElvisMiggell Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 Sounds good to me, i'm looking at it now... Elvismiggell. Strike me down and i will become more powerful than you can ever imagine... Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
ADarkJedi44 Posted January 30, 2003 Posted January 30, 2003 Page's commandos all the way. Sweat saves blood-Erwin Rommel
TK421 Posted February 3, 2003 Posted February 3, 2003 Page's Commando'sAlpha BlueNRI or slicersRecon X-Wing Espionage Droid (new pic)Noghri Death Commando's (new pic)Probe Droid (new pic)Commando's (like the team Thrawn used for the capture of Leia and twins?) We could also make the Noghri for two cards.. as infiltrators and Z'anthr saves the world. Sorry about the mess...
