Episodes 7,8,9 + a Star Wars TV Show

I don't know if this was mentioned yet, but last month Lucas made people sign an NDA not talking about Episodes 7,8,9.

 

Anyways, now some info was finally told to us about those episodes!

I certainly don't mind if it's high quality like Firefly, Stargate Atlantis, etc. Hopefully it will be something original and not pertain to the big story .

Sounds promising, I just wish that they follow the EU and dont make a new storyline.

 

Personally, I hope they do at least a session of the NJO, against the Vong.

 

I just hope that the TV series doesn't screw with the rest of Star Wars with either bad characters, actors or storylines.

Haha.. its a TV series - of course it will have bad characters, actors, and storylines. Just hope the good characters, actors, storylines outweigh the bad ones.

 

Anyway, looks like there's still lots to come after Episode 3. Lucas can keep milking the Star Wars cow for another decade or more.

If Lucas makes Episodes VII, IIX, and IX, he'll ruin everything that authors have written. How do I know this? In the latest Insider there is mention about the possibility of a third trillogy, and the writer states that the "Eu is not how George Lucas envisioned the continuation of the Star Wars saga". In short, it's not what Lucas wanted, so he'll write his own.

I haven't read any SW novels but from what I've heard of several aspects of the EU, it often isn't what I had expected either...

Outside of the original Zahn Trilogy, I've been generally dissapointed with the EU. There always seems to be a tendency for each author to out-do the other, by adding more and more Jedi or ridiculous stories. The NJO has been enjoyable, but has had to deal with the stupidity of the earlier novels. The fact that the novels were not written in any particular order or by the same writers has let to glaring discrepancies not just with the films, but also within the EU books themselves.

Yes but some books such as the X-Wing series are great and would make a very good TV series.

I too would have liked to see the X-Wing series and Zahn's novels as either movies or TV series. But it is simply not going to happen since lately Lucas believes himself to be the greatest author ever and won't let anyone else's ideas interfere with him. I'm waiting for the day when he does all the acting himself.

Three novels called "The Bounty Hunter wars". Far from being the best SW books.
