ElvisMiggell Posted December 5, 2002 Posted December 5, 2002 I'm liking the look of this. Elvismiggell. Strike me down and i will become more powerful than you can ever imagine... Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Jahled Posted December 18, 2002 Posted December 18, 2002 Arc Hammer...drool drool.... Say, with all these new models i'm beginning to run out of ships to replace. Anyone care to think about cracking the rebellion engine to increase the number of ships.....might as well do characters while they're at as well..... I'm full of wild, ambitious, but ultimately far-fetched ideas. If we can't because of Lucasarts licencing; LETS GO UNDERGROUND!!!* -Jahled, Minister of subversion. *and I can't be alone in being a little annoyed at Lucasarts neglecting my favourite game (and gamming genre). http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif

ElvisMiggell Posted December 23, 2002 Posted December 23, 2002 Editing the number of ships or characters isn't bad is it? Surely it's just a patch, which don't have to be made by LA, because the patch will only work if you have the original game, so you will have paid your dues to LA. It's about as bad as making character cards. I think. Elvismiggell. Strike me down and i will become more powerful than you can ever imagine... deXtoRious Posted January 12, 2003 Posted January 12, 2003 the patch will only work if you have the original game Wrong! It will still work on my super-cool piratic version, won't it? Ha, ha, haa!!! "You do not have to understand, just obey" - Grand Admiral Thrawn
Tsunami Posted July 2, 2003 Posted July 2, 2003 When I look at Rebellion with a little distance, I always wonder why someone would program such a limited and restricting game engine. I do not think they were aware of modders in that days and wanted to make it as difficult as possible for them; and those restrictions limited their game development, too. Weird. It's all hopeless but otherwise not very dramatic. - Helme Haffax Englishman: "What do you think of Modern Civilization?"Mahatma Gandhi: "That would be a good idea."
the_mask Posted July 2, 2003 Posted July 2, 2003 Yes, totally different from other companies like Raven, for instance. But one step at a time were gonna reveal all that is editable for this game and make it as open as it can get http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
pviddy Posted July 2, 2003 Posted July 2, 2003 now THAT would be great. it'd be good to totally update the game, and not be limited at all in modding it...damn LA...anything would be easier then getting another Rebellion out of them i guess. Dude, the Shnozzleberries taste like....shnozzleberries...
Tsunami Posted July 3, 2003 Posted July 3, 2003 LucasArts has had a real fall-from-grace. Up to XvT, every LA game was very good (except for the Indiana Jones Desktop Adventures), but with the whole Episode I crap and fast released games to make quick money with just the title, they destroyed their whole reputation. The new Indy games are good, but they are not up to Indy 3 and 4. Grim Fandango and Monkey 3 were also good, but Monkey 4 was not impressing. And of course there was Rebellion by Coolhand Entertainment. I like the game very much, but think about how much better it could have been if they had been more motivated and had had help from fans like us to make it closer to the real Star Wars... It's all hopeless but otherwise not very dramatic. - Helme Haffax Englishman: "What do you think of Modern Civilization?"Mahatma Gandhi: "That would be a good idea."
pviddy Posted July 3, 2003 Posted July 3, 2003 this is sadly the fate of space-sims also i fear...after XWA, LA seems to have abandoned us there too. the rebellion community is one of the strongest for a game i have seen, so we should be proud of that. If LA chooses to ignore that fact, well they're losing a perfectly splendid market...it'd be for their own good if they'd pay attention. Dude, the Shnozzleberries taste like....shnozzleberries...
Tsunami Posted July 4, 2003 Posted July 4, 2003 Think about how bad Master of Orion 3 is; the tactical combat is even uglier than Rebellion's, and Rebellion is four years older.Space strategy will look more like Haegemonia or Homeworld than like Imperium Galactica or MoO 2, although with Haegemonia's and Homeworld's quality I cannot say that I am displeased... The Homeworld 1 Star Wars TC looks pretty nice, to come back to the topic of models. It's all hopeless but otherwise not very dramatic. - Helme Haffax Englishman: "What do you think of Modern Civilization?"Mahatma Gandhi: "That would be a good idea."
Likinsman Posted October 28, 2003 Posted October 28, 2003 i know this post is kinda old but i have a question. can you insert the models from this site in the game? they seem to be different files than the ones you can insert from this site. any help would be appreciated. kaja Posted October 28, 2003 Posted October 28, 2003 What do you mean by From this site to the game do you mean downloading them and then putting them in. http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s152/Dave-Mastor/Cluster6.jpg
Likinsman Posted October 28, 2003 Posted October 28, 2003 yes that what i mean. i guess i was being to general in my description. i mean the ships they have at that site, can they be inserted in to rebellion after dowloading them. GGGGRRRRLLLLLL!!!!!!!-Chewbacca

Sure, but they'd have to be rescaled, retextured and shouldn't have more than 10,000 polygons, which I fear is the problem with most of these models http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
