Trejiuvanat Posted August 3, 2004 Posted August 3, 2004 A little something I read in theforce.net "] No one at ComicCon asked about the titles. Argh. And there I was, all set to spill it..... The title to the trilogy is: Star Wars: Dark Nest The first book: The Joiner King Second: The Unseen Queen Third: The Swarm War As you can see, they're more on the fantasy side of Sci Fi. I like them. Okay, "Dark" is in there... but we left out "Shadow." And yeah, Raynar is one of the main characters. Ah, but there is more because: It was revealed yesterday at a Comic Con panel that Aaron Allston and Troy Denning will both be contributing to a 9 book post-NJO series. A third author has yet to be announced. Allston will be writing three of the books which will come out in 2006. More details to come! Update! It should be noted that this is the series that was originally meant to be in the KOTOR era. It remains to be seen how much of a connection this series will have to Denning's already-announced post-NJO paperback trilogy, coming out next year. For those of you who were excited at the prospect of the Old Republic series, Sue Rostoni confirmed that there are still books planned for this era. Anyway, Raynar as a main characters, sounds odd as do all the insectoid references, but as for Allston back with a post NJO trilogy, well that's just WOO!!! And a third author, could it be Zahn, Luceno, Salvatore, Stackpole... http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
Stellar_Magic Posted August 3, 2004 Posted August 3, 2004 It won't be Zahn...Everything he's written has either had a direct bearing on Thrawn or Outbound Flight. I heard he's started a prequeal about Outbound Flight. ADarkJedi44 Posted August 3, 2004 Posted August 3, 2004 Titles sounds intresting...and the other books WHOOOOOOOOOOOO!I think that might be pretty much the end of the Post-Njo (or at least as we know it) but it looks to be very good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sweat saves blood-Erwin Rommel

ADarkJedi44 Posted August 3, 2004 Posted August 3, 2004 I'm not so sure your books would be suitable for anyone under the age of 18.... Sweat saves blood-Erwin Rommel
Guest Admiral_Antilles Posted August 4, 2004 Posted August 4, 2004 Very great find, Trej. But I am curious as to how insectoids are important to post-NJO? I guess we shall see eventually in 2006. I think a debate should begin as to what the plot may consist of.
ADarkJedi44 Posted August 4, 2004 Posted August 4, 2004 I do belive the insectoid names are about the triology to come in in 2005. Who will the villians be, Geonosians? Sweat saves blood-Erwin Rommel
Trejiuvanat Posted August 4, 2004 Author Posted August 4, 2004 The series will be launched in 2005, so we'll have Zahn's Prequel Novel, Episode III and Post-Njo, all in one year. http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
Guest Admiral_Antilles Posted August 4, 2004 Posted August 4, 2004 The series will be launched in 2005, so we'll have Zahn's Prequel Novel, Episode III and Post-Njo, all in one year. Yes, it will be a great year for Star Wars fans indeed. Let us just hope that the strong fan-base that is here now will continue when there are no more Star Wars movies to wait for. Getting back to the topic: You bring an interesting idea to the table, Darky. Considering the comment that was made saying that we will see a familiar face, makes your theory possible correct. Any others?
ADarkJedi44 Posted August 4, 2004 Posted August 4, 2004 Yep, us Star Wars geeks will have quite a good year I just don't see how the Geonosians could create that much of a threat. Neverthless, that's the only insectoid species I could think of Sweat saves blood-Erwin Rommel
Trejiuvanat Posted August 4, 2004 Author Posted August 4, 2004 Hm... I think it depends on which Liberties Del Rey gave to Denning: Was he allowed to create a new Species ?(In NJO, excepting the Vong all races already existed in the galaxy). Bring back an old enemy? There are insectoid races in the GFFA: GeonosiansVerpinesKubazVratix, etc Though the Geonosians are the more warlike among those. I wonder why Sue Rostoni made a special mention of Raynar, and that he is a main character, will he be the villian of the series? What happened to him after Star by Star? http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
Guest Admiral_Antilles Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 Refresh my memory, was Raynar the one who was taken aboard a ship in Star by Star and supposedly killed? I remember liking a chracter with an 'R' in his name, and I was just wanting to clarify if it was indeed him.
ADarkJedi44 Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 Yeah for some reason I forget who Raynar is also....and why does he get a special mention? Sweat saves blood-Erwin Rommel
BadSamaritan Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 Im still hoping for some mandalorian warriors. I may hope in vain, but hey, I can have dreams. I once knew a great man. Nothing got to him, and he always smiled. May he forever rest in peace, knowing fully well that his freinds shall remember him.
ADarkJedi44 Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 That would make quite a series...Insectoid mandelorians Sweat saves blood-Erwin Rommel
BadSamaritan Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 That would make quite a series...Insectoid mandelorians How dare you even think of comparing insectoid vermin with the might of the mandalorians!!! I once knew a great man. Nothing got to him, and he always smiled. May he forever rest in peace, knowing fully well that his freinds shall remember him.
ADarkJedi44 Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 Well the titles imply that the villians will be insectoid.... Sweat saves blood-Erwin Rommel
Jahled Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 Well the titles imply that the villians will be insectoid.... ...insectoid.... at least they're not... ..***shudders*** http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
ADarkJedi44 Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 Penguin warriors? We're doomed, aren't we? Sweat saves blood-Erwin Rommel
BadSamaritan Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 One by one, the penguins shall conquer the galaxy!!! I once knew a great man. Nothing got to him, and he always smiled. May he forever rest in peace, knowing fully well that his freinds shall remember him.
Trejiuvanat Posted August 5, 2004 Author Posted August 5, 2004 They's probably be happy with Hoth and few others, reminds of a place I was in Argentina were there were mone penguins than humans. Anyway, pipe down guys, let's keep the discussion clean. I wonder if Boba and his Mandalorian friends will make another appearance in the series? http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
BadSamaritan Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 I hope Fett shows up. The star wars universe just wouldnt be the same without him. I once knew a great man. Nothing got to him, and he always smiled. May he forever rest in peace, knowing fully well that his freinds shall remember him.
Guest Admiral_Antilles Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 I wonder how much of Ben Skywalker will be mentioned in these new post-NJO books? He was only so so involved with NJO, but then again he was only a toddler. Any thoughts on how he may be involved in the new series?
