Guest JediIgor Posted November 16, 2002 Posted November 16, 2002 It's supposed to come out on the 26th.. You guys told me good things about this game, so naturally I can't wait, I'm thinking of pre-ordering it asap, along with Tribunal (which was released a few days ago).
Guest JediIgor Posted November 28, 2002 Posted November 28, 2002 Well.. it should be arriving tomorrow (along with Tribunal..!) Anyways, what's up with you guys? MoO3 was a highly anticipated product.. now it seems nobody cares.
the_mask Posted November 28, 2002 Posted November 28, 2002 I once bought Moo2 with a games-mag, but the cd was too badly scratched to be readable (the one time I didn't look at it...), and the buddy, who also bought it always promised to lend me his to play. And I just remembered, that was about two years ago. I still don't know, what Moo is like ,he meant 'like Rebellion', but the graphics are not that good. http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
Guest JediIgor Posted December 1, 2002 Posted December 1, 2002 Well, ladies & gents, it's Sunday, and I still didn't get my games.. and they were supposed to be arriving Thursday. No way I am ever ordering from Amazon.com again...
Skynxnex Posted December 1, 2002 Posted December 1, 2002 MOO3 has been delayed till the 4th or 17th of dec http://img30.echo.cx/img30/2519/yodavspals4fr0gi.gif
Guest JediIgor Posted December 3, 2002 Posted December 3, 2002 Well, I should get Tribunal tomorrow or Thursday.. I just hope I have enough time to beat Island Thunder first (a weekend's morning should do the job!) Also.. good news concerning MoO3! They managed to delay the release date; it's not December 4th anymore! Yay! http://www.pcgamereview.com/dailynews/comments/1038513285,56038,.asp
the_mask Posted December 4, 2002 Posted December 4, 2002 What about Hegemonia ? Isn't this something like Homeworld ? http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
Guest JediIgor Posted December 6, 2002 Posted December 6, 2002 As for that - (Correct me if I'm wrong) It's been out for some time.
SWR Staff - Executive Evaders99 Posted December 6, 2002 SWR Staff - Executive Posted December 6, 2002 Hegemonia is out? Yea, its like Homeworld. I haven't downloaded the demo, but the screenshots look good. There is also O.R.B. which I hope is out soon. No news on Homeworld 2 yet.. but I hope they release it soon. I need a new game to interest me. ElvisMiggell Posted December 6, 2002 Posted December 6, 2002 Okay, excuse my dumbness, but what is MoO3 actually about? I'm guessing some sort of strategy, but what are we talking about? Space, fantasy, historical? Elvismiggell. Strike me down and i will become more powerful than you can ever imagine... Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Guest JediIgor Posted December 14, 2002 Posted December 14, 2002 I haven't played any of the previous games.. but from what I gather so far, there are several races. It's similar to Rebellion, really. You conquer planets, and then there's a tactical mode for battles. Just cooler... lots cooler. Supposedly.
ElvisMiggell Posted December 24, 2002 Posted December 24, 2002 But not based on SW? I wonder how moddable it's gona be...?I think it's out at the end of January now. Elvismiggell. Loserboy Posted December 30, 2002 Posted December 30, 2002 Moo is not based on any known movie or series, it's an independent series. it's also one of my all time favorite games, yes even above rebellion. In the previous games you basically start on a single planet and from there on counquer the entire galaxy, become president of the senate or destroy some ultimate evil elder race. In order to achieve any of these goals you have to, colonize new worlds, research new techs, design your ships, use diplomacy and spying to be victorious. Both tactical and stratagy is turnbased and are quite fun. In the second game there where some 8 or 10 races. All having their own strengths and weaknesses. Not to mention that you can create your own race. Plus techologies are really diverse in this game from the lowly laser tot the stellar coverter. (deathstar eat your hart out). Many a planet has been shot to pieces thanks to this gadget. The third installment of this most excellent series is promising to be even more complex, with 16 races devided into a couple of sub-catagories, Humanoid, Saurian, ect. And these guys can have rebellions and split into little empires, which have the same options as the original ones. Anyway I could probably talk about this for hours, It’s best if you check out (http://www.orionsector.com, or http://apolyton.net/moo3/. It’s been delayed for ages, but it looks like a winner. Hmm, games that last weeks, fleet battles with 100’s of ships, disgnable craft from missles to Levithans (1-2 km ships), 100’s of techs, tactical groundbattles, senate politics/backstabing (Don’t like nukes, ban em!) and the list goes on and on. *drools* The game should be modablem. all values are stored in some kind of spread-sheat format and the moddels can be edited with 3d max, not to sure about that last part thoug. *hell it should be easier than Reb ,right Sorry about the comercial, but both Moo’s are my all time fav games. I still get a chuckle when It asks for DirectX 2. Oh and Heagemonia is nothing like homeworld. It’s pretty, but tactics are non-existant in this game. When you only have fighers build fighters, when you develop cruisers just build cruisers and finally once you develop battle ships, your fleets will consist of nothing but giant battleships and you’ll send them in straight lines at your targets. Plus the 2 campaigns merge after four missions and from thereon are exactly the same. But it does look insanly good for a RTS though. Wreckage and missles flying about in a beautifull light show. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------The bigger they are, the harder they fall. They punch, kick and choke harder too.
ElvisMiggell Posted December 31, 2002 Posted December 31, 2002 I have to say, i was brought up on rts, not turn based, and as such, i'm afraid i probably won't enjoy it quite so much as you, no matter how good it looks. Turn based drives me insane. Elvismiggell. Strike me down and i will become more powerful than you can ever imagine... Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
ElvisMiggell Posted March 6, 2003 Posted March 6, 2003 I think it should be out very soon now. I believe Freelancer is out in the USA now, but it's not out over here yet. Elvismiggell. Strike me down and i will become more powerful than you can ever imagine... Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Guest JediIgor Posted March 7, 2003 Posted March 7, 2003 Who else bought it and thinks it's a disappointment? Has a very, very high learning curve... I think the AI should do a lot more for me then it does now, i.e. design new ships automatically and build those instead of building obsolete ships The resolution is too small as well.. I wouldn't mind bigger ones
ElvisMiggell Posted March 7, 2003 Posted March 7, 2003 I saw it in the shop today and saw the box. The graphics don't look very impressive i have to say. Elvismiggell. Strike me down and i will become more powerful than you can ever imagine... Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
GonkRaider Posted March 18, 2003 Posted March 18, 2003 Well from the lips of my masters of orion freak friend.. its not about the graphics.. its about the INSANE AMOUNTS OF MICROMANAGEMENT GET YOUR HANDS OFF me you damned dirty gonks
