Guest JediIgor Posted November 16, 2002 Posted November 16, 2002 1) Where is this feature located? I have a bad time remembering it.. 2) Go to your Rebellion folders and make sure your DLLs aren't set to read-only; that would prevent RebEd from making any changes to them. 3) Yes, you just need to have the BMPs in 8-bit/256 colors (the ones off the net were most likely 24-bit). 4) Did you download the new DLLs from the Downloads > RebEd section? If you didn't, do it now, it expands all the spaces for you automatically.. If you did download it, just take the DLLs that were in that file and replace the ones in your Rebellion folder.
Trejiuvanat Posted November 17, 2002 Posted November 17, 2002 1) The feature is in the capital ships section. As a matter of fact I have wondered about its purpose too. Anyone with an answer? http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif

the_mask Posted November 18, 2002 Posted November 18, 2002 Currently my cardspace update only expands the texts (names/encyclopedia) for the characters. I have already talked about expanding it to include the ships and such, with a few people. That'll be version 2.0 http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
Guest JediIgor Posted November 18, 2002 Posted November 18, 2002 2) Try using "Save Settings" and "Load Settings". 3) The easiest way is to use MS Paint, go to start > programs > accessories > paint; then go to File > Save As. 5) You could change it in RebEd, you just need your ship's background to be blue when you do so (RGB Value 0,0,255). 6) If you want the encyclopedia pic to be the same as the other pics, then downsize the encyclopedia pic and replace all the other ones with it. 7) Use the same Resource Hacker to go to through all the card names and delete the extra spacings. You could probably use Resource Hacker for this; just look for "2nd DS " and replace it with "Death Star B".

the_mask Posted November 19, 2002 Posted November 19, 2002 3) 256 means 8bit, that's right 301 in the tactical.dll is the 'folder' for the models, there are no pictures there, that I know of. 303 is the folder for the textures of the ships. The fighters and the Deathstar should be there too, but so far I can't decipher this format. Hopefully Magus will help us out here. http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif

ElvisMiggell Posted November 19, 2002 Posted November 19, 2002 Mass alteration:- My guess is that it was something to do with Death Stars. I don't know how RebEd originated, but my guess was that someone hypothesised that by changing the mass of a Death Star you could get more than one into the same fleet. I'm only guessing, and i think that if that's what somebody tried, they would have found it didn't work. Any ideas people? Elvismiggell. UntimelyDemise Posted November 19, 2002 Posted November 19, 2002 I thought Mass Alteration refered to changing a stat in all cards all at once. Like changing all cards' Diplomacy to 100. I've never used it, because I like every card to be unique. That's a theory on my part, as well...I just ignore that button! the_mask Posted November 20, 2002 Posted November 20, 2002 Well, Revolution, the creator of our favourite prog RebEd seems to have retired from editing Rebellion But if I recall correctly, Mass alteration had to do with how fast your ship traveled in hyperspace. More mass = slower and vice-versa. Doesn't the quick-info for the mass alteration feature say anything about it ? http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif

UntimelyDemise Posted November 20, 2002 Posted November 20, 2002 Hmmm...I suggest we just test it. Someone take a Transport and do a confirmed move to another system. Write down how long it takes. Go to RebEd, change the Mass Alteration and then go back and do the confirmed move to the same system. If there is a change, please let us know! I am unfortunately at work, so I am unable to test this. UntimelyDemise Posted November 20, 2002 Posted November 20, 2002 7) Which .DLL file(s) do I need to edit? Sorry Pucho...didn't see this one. I think it's the textra.dll, but I could be wrong...still at work. ElvisMiggell Posted November 22, 2002 Posted November 22, 2002 Hmm, mass alteration seems to make no obvious difference.Oh well Elvismiggell. Strike me down and i will become more powerful than you can ever imagine... Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
