SWR Crash in WinXP

Hi,

 

I was playing SWR when I had the "not-so-good" idea of starting a planetary bombardment. When it was supposed to start, the game crashed! I tried it several times, and it happened every time. May somebody help me with this? I don't want to stop playing this great game because of such a problem... Just a note, it also happens when the IA tries to bombard my planets.

Hmmm...did you do something with RebEd ? If not try to uninstal and reinstal the game

No, I haven't edited anything. Actaully, I learned about RebEd's existance when I came here to ask.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling. I installed from another CD drive (I had some trouble with the one I was using). But nothing happened...

....hmmm..then try to instal rebed , maybe he will fix you error...or you should ask the_mask...he always knows

Oh, well... I installed RebEd, I checked everything for any error / possible fix... and now it doesn't run at all...

I'm trying to get another copy of the Rebellion CD. Maybe my CD is corrupted... (Personally, I can't think on something else)

Looks to me, like the sound file can't be accessed.

Did you use the full install option ? If that doesn't work, try creating an image from your disc and install from that one via Daemon tools.

It was my CD. It seems that it was corrupted. Now it works absolutely fine!

No problem. I'd still play from the image though, that's what I'm doing for two years now. The original cd is safe and catching dust
