Brass_Bra_Leia Posted April 27, 2004 Posted April 27, 2004 Indeediness! And hurrah! For my football team our the English football league champions. WOO YEYNESS!! And we only spent £2 million on transfers this season; Chelsea spent 50 times more... ...And to top it all I can still type having spent all afternoon in a pub!!! It always amazes me in American football, well especially with the Chaicago Bears, maybe with all team but I really notice it with them as TF talks non-stop about them, they well get a great player let them go because of salary cap reasons or some other baloney, he gets picked up by another team and does phenominal. It amazes me Congrats for your team "You came in THAT thing? You're braver than I thought." -Princess Leia
Trejiuvanat Posted April 27, 2004 Posted April 27, 2004 Yay Arsenal!!!!That's defintely the best english team around, too bad they were kicked out of the Champion's League. Actually Arsenal is the only of the teams I support around the world that has done something this year. Juve has no chances in the Calcio, Stuttgart has lost all opportunity on the title of the Bundesliga, Barcelona might still have a shot, but it's very improbable. And in Costa Rica Alajuela's chances to get their fifth title in a row are nil. At least Alajuela is in the regional final: The CONCACAF Champions Cup (The smaller and more pathetic version of the UEFA Champions League). Anyway: Hurra Arsenal! Let's hope they don't sell Henry to Real Madrid! http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
Jahled Posted April 27, 2004 Author Posted April 27, 2004 Let's hope they don't sell Henry to Real Madrid! Cool dude, I don't know if you guys around the world notice but our manager has a very good habit of buying up promising players and 'grooming them' to the extent we can then sell them to the over-inflated egos in Spain and Italy for twenty times as much! But despite recent set backs against Chelski and those Manchester United vermin; I think Arsenal are about to bust through on our biggest hang-up; Europe, as with a new stadium (ours only holds about 34k at present), so the future is looking bright! LONG LIVE HENRY and VIERRA; may their toes never fall off! http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
Trejiuvanat Posted April 28, 2004 Posted April 28, 2004 Only 34K??? The biggest one in Costa Rica has a capacity of 24K... The megalomaniac/overinflated Mexican that bought the Deportivo Saprissa (compare him to Abrahamovic and Chelsea), has decided to build a new stadium with a capacity for 50K!!! I think it's not practical in a country like this, but anyway. In Costa Rica football is effectively the "opium of the people", anyone talks about it, internation and national, the public tv channels transmit all kind of football events: Eurocup, UEFA Champions League, CONCACAF Champions League (only when Costa Rican teams play), Worldcup, Copa América, Southamerican Clasificatory Round, and all the matches of the national team and the three big teams, Alajuela, Saprissa , and Heredia. Many people take an interest in the international teams, mostly Real Madrid, Barcelona, Milan, Juve, Manchesters (both United and City, because of the Costa Rican playing in City) and Arsenal, most people only focus on transfers between the big teams, especially with the arrogant policy of real madrid... http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
ElvisMiggell Posted May 2, 2004 Posted May 2, 2004 Thank God we managed to win something!!! Elvismiggell. Strike me down and i will become more powerful than you can ever imagine... Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Jahled Posted May 2, 2004 Author Posted May 2, 2004 I honestly don't think it was in to much doubt this time around, though going out of Europe and the FA Cup was perhaps inevitable giving are opponents! Swings and rounderabouts. http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
Jahled Posted May 15, 2004 Author Posted May 15, 2004 BUT IT GET'S EVEN BETTER!!! Hell yeah! Arsenal today became the first English football team in 115 years-since football was first established-to complete a season undefeated. I think one English player played for the last twelve seconds... http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
Trejiuvanat Posted May 16, 2004 Posted May 16, 2004 They won after all? I kept saw only the first half of the match, when Leicester scored their goal. Good for them! In other Sports News, the Costa Rican Team Alajuelense won the CONCACAF Champions Cup final last wednesday, and becoming the best Team in the Region. Even so, they won't receive the $1 Million prize, nor the invitation for the Clup Championship... Stupid FIFA!!! http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
ElvisMiggell Posted May 16, 2004 Posted May 16, 2004 FIFA suck, they just aren't in touch with what's going on anymore. Elvismiggell. Strike me down and i will become more powerful than you can ever imagine... Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
