SWR Staff - Executive EvilleJedi Posted April 6, 2004 SWR Staff - Executive Posted April 6, 2004 Post your crash issues, bugs and other gameplay problems in this thread
DarthFelth Posted April 6, 2004 Posted April 6, 2004 harvesting dont work that well dude, if you set it on auto harvest the mole miners wont dock, you ahve to manualy dock them its a pain in the bum checks dude http://www.thegamingunion.co.uk/Forum/ubb/conquestBanner.jpgand come visit Galactic Conquest Online Website here
AsterXiphos Posted April 6, 2004 Posted April 6, 2004 Same problems here with the harvesting, and fighters and bombers won't dock most of the time. Je Suis L'Homme!
DarthFelth Posted April 6, 2004 Posted April 6, 2004 i didnt have a problem with mine docking with the harvester, however they wouldnt dock with the fighter yard and any other yard (destroyer and crusier) i didnt get round to building any warships really cos harvesting was really starting to piss me off in the last version it was fine, i was alos woundering what happened to the rac hammer as the mothership or is that being put into anouther slot or tweaked abit? http://www.thegamingunion.co.uk/Forum/ubb/conquestBanner.jpgand come visit Galactic Conquest Online Website here
AsterXiphos Posted April 7, 2004 Posted April 7, 2004 I could get maybe one flight into the refinery ship, but any others in the group would just get hung up in front of the hangar. I didn't get any to fly into a Vic or an Impstar. Same with the MC's, actually . . . I was confused about the platforms, too, but forgot to mention it. There's a launch dealy for the platforms and yards, but no way to dock with them. Also, can miners dock with any of the platforms or yards? I wasn't sure about that. If not, it'd be awful to lose a refinery ship! Interesting Note: The shading problems would go away for a couple of minutes if I looked straight down and spun around (the camera, that is . . .). So how does one get hold of Relic for help on engine glows, dockpaths, shading, etc? Je Suis L'Homme!
DarthFelth Posted April 7, 2004 Posted April 7, 2004 Eville, your must have forgotten to add something in, cos in the last release everything was working fine (well apart for the lighting ) very very strange anyways http://www.thegamingunion.co.uk/Forum/ubb/conquestBanner.jpgand come visit Galactic Conquest Online Website here
AsterXiphos Posted April 7, 2004 Posted April 7, 2004 K, so I played again to find those bugs I forgot. I only found two. One is that the Vanguard textures are all off at times. The cockpit ends up on the solar arrays, and it looks really funny. Give it some time, and the textures actually fix themselves. I'm assuming this is similar to the shading problem? Also, with transports, corellian craft, etc, there is a wierd "damage halo" that goes around them like a collar on a dog. I looks like the same damage thingy that gets put on the larger ships when they're hit, but the smaller craft can't have them or something like that. Neither of these are really important, but they're all I noticed. Je Suis L'Homme!
seefour Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 I'm still trying to nail it down but I've found a crashing bug related to the rules in .26. Has an anyone else experienced it?
AsterXiphos Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 Hmmm . . . not here. Built about everything, and haven't had a crash yet. Prolly jes' jinxed myself, though . . . Je Suis L'Homme!
SWR Staff - Executive EvilleJedi Posted April 13, 2004 Author SWR Staff - Executive Posted April 13, 2004 see four: do you have the Homeworld2 1.1 patch? otherwise please be more specific about what options caused the crash.
DarthFelth Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 well i dont hvae 1.1 and i havent had crash problems, infact the only problem i have really come across is the docking, which some times works and the lighting (which i think you fixed now) http://www.thegamingunion.co.uk/Forum/ubb/conquestBanner.jpgand come visit Galactic Conquest Online Website here
seefour Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 Yes, I have the 1.1 patch. However, I'm not sure which option caused it as the only 2 times I had a crash, I didn't record the settings I had. I'll see if I can get some duplication tonight after my classes.
the_mask Posted April 21, 2004 Posted April 21, 2004 Hi, I downloaded .26c yesterday and tested both sides, when something weird happened, while I was playing on the imperial side: I've built some capital ships and two fighter groups and slagged the opponent fleets everytime they were rebuilt. Then I withdrew and harvested some more. Once the last enemy destroyer was blown to dust, I noticed, that I didn't have the Rebel construction sites on my radar anymore. I thought, that it might be out of range, or that my fleets had already destroyed it, while I was eating inbetween. So I sent my fleet and the fighters to scout the whole map, nothing was there, even in the 3D view. After squinting at the map to see, if I left some lonely mole miner also proved to be inconclusive I thought, that it could maybe relate to that captured Mc80 I had. So I hit the self-destruct button, but that didn't change anything. After leaving the room again I saw the construction sites reappearing on the map as I entered a few minutes later. Did anyone else ever have this happen to them ?Btw, v1.1 here. http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
DarthFelth Posted April 21, 2004 Posted April 21, 2004 hmm, no, sounds like the computer hidding to me http://www.thegamingunion.co.uk/Forum/ubb/conquestBanner.jpgand come visit Galactic Conquest Online Website here
the_mask Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 Well yeah, to me it also felt like it was playing a prank on me Dunno, I played another short game yesterday to finally see the SSD and that behaved normally. http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
AsterXiphos Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 I've had similar issues with the planetary map. Many a' time I've just given up looking for them and just quit. It's kinda odd. Je Suis L'Homme!
HurinThalion Posted April 25, 2004 Posted April 25, 2004 I was watching my Mc80 cruisers and mon calamarian cruisers rip up a ssd and zoomed in on my mon cal to listen to the beautiful sound of lasers firing. "Homeworld2.exe caused an Access Violation in module seFDAudio.dll at 001b:047e47dc.Error occurred at 4/25/2004 09:23:44.Read from location 0e22e000 caused an access violation."
SWR Staff - Executive EvilleJedi Posted April 25, 2004 Author SWR Staff - Executive Posted April 25, 2004 hmmm it seems like there still is a sound encoding issue, thanks for catching it.
the_mask Posted April 27, 2004 Posted April 27, 2004 Umm, also upon building every available Tie Fighter I gave them formation orders and zoomed in on each group to watch the models more closely. When I reached the Interceptors, the game simply quit and I was back at the desktop, looking like this: Again I have to ask, does this only happen to me ? http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
SWR Staff - Executive EvilleJedi Posted April 27, 2004 Author SWR Staff - Executive Posted April 27, 2004 what video card, video memory, resolution and settings like anti aliasing are you running? I know that older video cards in general (pre geforce4, radeon 9xxx) and newer ones (geforce 5xxx, radeon 9xxx) with everything turned up all the way will crash out because of a texture managment issue on the video card. if you're running 1600x1200 with 4x AA + i'd expect it to crash
the_mask Posted April 29, 2004 Posted April 29, 2004 I'm using a GF-4200Ti with 128MB and a resolution of either 1024x768, or 1280x1024 (I think the first one).As for the AA settings, uhm ... can't say that for certain at the moment, cause I'm sitting in the pc-pool at the uni, but I guess 2x. http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
Executor Posted May 15, 2004 Posted May 15, 2004 I tried to download v0.26c. When I tried to make it a zipped file it said the download was complete. Then when I tried to open it said that it was corrupt or something. So I tried to save it as a normal file. It took about 70 minutes to complete and when I tried to open it again it said it was corrupt. What should I do?
kaja Posted May 16, 2004 Posted May 16, 2004 Well, as for the currupt file, do this: 1. Redownload.2. Disable Screen Saver.3. Don't Install or Play Anything. And That Should Work.Hope that helps! Also, I got a Crash error:When I try to play HW2SW 2.6, Instead of playing DEATHMATCH , It Crashes Is There any way Around it. Also DEATHMATCH works just fine. http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s152/Dave-Mastor/Cluster6.jpg
Executor Posted May 16, 2004 Posted May 16, 2004 The problem is that when I don't make the file zipped it takes a long time. I tried to wait but this website turns the download off when you don't do anything on it. When I try to make it a zipped file it goes for 1 second and says its done. It says the file is 20mb even though its supposed to be 61mb. This might be because it is zipped and this shrank the file. When I go to extract the files it says there are no files to extract.HELP!!!IM SO CONFUSED!!!What should I do?
SWR Staff - Executive EvilleJedi Posted May 16, 2004 Author SWR Staff - Executive Posted May 16, 2004 try doing a right click 'save target as' XP tends to do stupid things with zip files.
