Problem Finding The Game

I used to have this game when it first came out but after moving a few years back I can't seem to find it now So I went to the Lucas Arts site to order it (its still 29.95!!) but they don't ship to Canada online and since I don't have a credit card and I can't find it locally I dunno what else to do.

Hmm, we've discussed this a lot here, although most of the times people asked us to send them complete images of the game. Thanks for not asking this in the first place

 

Have you tried auctions, like eBay ? I don't know, if there's an extra page for Canada (probably not), but I know for example, that there's one for Germany and Austria. Anyways, I'd try ebay.com and ask, if they also ship to Canada.

I was thinking about the cd image but I figured it was frowned apawned so I didn't bother to ask

 

As for ebay I looked and there was a few I'll have to look into it although it will probably require a CC so that won't do me any good as well. I guess I could check out some flea markets around here you never know what you could find there... I hope I can get it as if memory serves it was a really involving and addictive game.

You can buy in Ebay even if you don't have a CC, it's just a matter of patience, try contacting the seller if he accepts payment in a nonCC way.

Well Mask remember that the "Members Only" is bloked ....and usualy the newbies don't chek all the forums .

 

Also IN MY OPINION THE RELOADED IS BETTER THAN PROTECTORATE SERIES for now ....but we are close behind.

 

Also you are my inspiration in forum public relations PR....We don't have time to be modests ......

 

 

I think the Reloaded should create a Preview topic also NO ?

the surprise thing is not working very well in PR ..... did you see how RDB II is growing ?..... well that is also with some aggresive PR...

Since I still don't have the game I was wondering if you guys thought that Force Commander was a good game to get in the mean time?... I saw it for cheap in the store.

Like Rebellion, Force Commander is not your standard RTS. The controls, while complicated at first, don't show the full potential of the game. Force Commander was a great game, good concepts, solid storyline and gameplay, but ultimately lacked in implementation. If you liked the uniqueness of Rebellion and hated the whole AOE clone (Galactic Battlegrounds), then Force Commander should fit right in.

I did like Battlegrounds but after many hours of playing it got boring quick, same thing again and again. How big of a leanring curve is FC? I know at the time I needed a powerful system to run it good but that doesn't matter anymore

Its not too terrible. The 3d camera is useful, but you will mostly be playing from top-down view. The tutorial does a decent job. It starts out slow, but the game gets pretty involved.

Sounds good. I did a bit of looking on the net and the same reviews that hate Rebellion hated Force Commander. So I'll probably pick it up later in the week.

I had a problem with the game somehow some of the controls wouldn't work, since a friend had loaned it to me I didn't take time to figure it out...

I loved Force Commander, btw. It had a really good story and I still can't understand the critics about the interface ....

I mean Black & White had almost the same and there it was "revolutional"

Btw, I still have to finish it sometime. With Evader's help I got through two unnerving missions, but later I had to reinstall Windows again. But at least I have backups of almost every savegame I ever played.

Well try some cards and printscreens from the new movies ....also put it as a news on the main page.....Make all photos 12-13k .jpgs .....they will look fine but they will be usles to use in a personal mod....of course the beholder will have to wait for the real thing.

Hi, everyone.

 

Like many others, it seems, I'm also trying to get ahold of this game. I know the LucasArts site has it for sale, but I've seen some of the "goodies" from the original retail version like the poster, and I'd like to get those as well. Does the LucasArts version include them, or is it just the CD-ROM?

 

I've tried bidding on E-bay, but the week-long auctions make for slow progress (especially when you end up on the losing end).

I can double-check through my stuff but I don't remember getting any sort of poster. I bought mine the week the game was released. I'm pretty sure it just came with a box, a CD in a hard plastic case, and the game instruction manual.
