UntimelyDemise Posted November 12, 2002 Posted November 12, 2002 I just bought the Ep II DVD for $19.00! I love Wal-Mart...cause I ain't got no money! Markaine Posted November 12, 2002 Posted November 12, 2002 yeah its sweet. I bought mine for about $20 because of the midnight opening at cocanuts. We got Deathstars, We got Deathstars....And you know that we got it, Deathstars!
Guest JediIgor Posted November 13, 2002 Posted November 13, 2002 Are the new scences really worth it (don't spoil please), and besides the fact that the movie is good itself, are there any new features that make it worth the large price tag of $20 that it carries? If so, maybe, just maybe, I could get my dad to buy it..
Rogue13 Posted November 13, 2002 Posted November 13, 2002 I was going to buy my copy for £17.99 but then something else caught my eye. A special double DVD edition. EP I & EP II in the same box set for £30. *Rogue has large grin on face looking very pleased with himself* 2xtreme Gaming Clan http://www.clan-2xtreme.co.uk Counterstrike Source : 195.20.109.124:27015Day of Defeat : 195.20.109.124:27025Team Fortress Classic : 195.20.109.124:27030Counterstrike 1.6 : 195.20.109.124:27040
Guest JediIgor Posted November 13, 2002 Posted November 13, 2002 Could anyone answer my original question please? Rogue: That's good, I suppose, except that I already got my parents to buy the Episode I video years ago, and when I tried to get them to buy the S.E. DVD a few months ago they declined. *sigh*
UntimelyDemise Posted November 13, 2002 Author Posted November 13, 2002 Igor: It's very, very good and worth it. There is a seperate DVD just for the bonus material. They claim there is 6 hours of bonus material, but I only got to check out about an hour (baby cries, everything else ends!). Trust me, just having all the trailers and TV commercials together, the deleted scenes, interviews with Lucas, storyboards, etc., etc. is AWESOME! A definite must-buy even at $30 (though I haven't seen it that expensive anywhere). BTW, the one thing I didn't like was you have to buy either the Widescreen or Fullscreen version...since this was digital from beginning, couldn't they package them both together like Monsters, Inc.? the_mask Posted November 13, 2002 Posted November 13, 2002 And I'll have to wait until Nov28th to buy the german version Well, at least I'll have 20% off cause I'll buy it at the shopping center where my mother works One of the scenes I liked most on the 2nd DVD of EP1 was, when George Lucas painted the storyboards with different colors, according to the teams, saying 'this is you guys ... and this is you ...'. Everyone looking bewildered and then George smacks his head to the board, cause he used the wrong color http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
Rogue13 Posted November 13, 2002 Posted November 13, 2002 The DVD package i got contains both special editions (EPI &EPII). 2 movies and all the extra material for £30. *Still grinning* 2xtreme Gaming Clan http://www.clan-2xtreme.co.uk Counterstrike Source : 195.20.109.124:27015Day of Defeat : 195.20.109.124:27025Team Fortress Classic : 195.20.109.124:27030Counterstrike 1.6 : 195.20.109.124:27040

the_mask Posted November 13, 2002 Posted November 13, 2002 Is this the 'build a better R2' from the EP1 DVDs, or something from the EP2 ? http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif

UntimelyDemise Posted November 13, 2002 Author Posted November 13, 2002 The mockumentary is supposed to be a "history" of R2 and his exploits in Hollywood. I haven't seen it yet. UntimelyDemise Posted November 13, 2002 Author Posted November 13, 2002 Venix, did they get people who sound like the actors to dub the French in, or did they sound different? I had heard that the translators don't necessarily sound like the original actors (McGregor, Portman, etc). Rogue13 Posted November 14, 2002 Posted November 14, 2002 Yeah it 4 or 5 disks in the special edition of Lord of the rings. I bought the normal edition and it advertised the special edition and it though "shit, if i had known there was going to be a special edition then i would not have bought the normal one." oh well, nevermind. 2xtreme Gaming Clan http://www.clan-2xtreme.co.uk Counterstrike Source : 195.20.109.124:27015Day of Defeat : 195.20.109.124:27025Team Fortress Classic : 195.20.109.124:27030Counterstrike 1.6 : 195.20.109.124:27040
ElvisMiggell Posted November 14, 2002 Posted November 14, 2002 Lord of the Rings ROCKS!!!!So does Black Hawk Down.I watched them both last night. They're wicked!!!!!!!!! Elvismiggell. UntimelyDemise Posted November 14, 2002 Author Posted November 14, 2002 I thought LOTR was a little "fast". They tried to tell too much of the story too quickly...of course, if they would've made the movie like the book, we'd all still be watching the movie! I have heard Two Towers is going to be a little more evenly paced and even better! ElvisMiggell Posted November 14, 2002 Posted November 14, 2002 Hmm, i would have thought the extended three hours would be smooth enough. It now tells just about the whole book, and gets rid of some of the continuity errors. Elvismiggell. Strike me down and i will become more powerful than you can ever imagine... UntimelyDemise Posted November 14, 2002 Author Posted November 14, 2002 Elvis...if you are referring to the LOTR DVD, I haven't seen it yet...the theatrical version is all I've seen.
