ElvisMiggell Posted May 17, 2004 Posted May 17, 2004 Open...ish. They really weren't that open until after they took Coruscant, and even then, they weren't that open. Elvismiggell. Mad78 Posted May 17, 2004 Posted May 17, 2004 I think each important ship yard had a defence fleet but planets tended to have a few fighter squadrons because they were cheaper http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
ADarkJedi44 Posted May 17, 2004 Posted May 17, 2004 Well after Endor they began taking whole planet. Sure Warlords took plenty but there are still a few thousand ISDs left to destroy the Rebellion and the warlords! Sweat saves blood-Erwin Rommel
Mad78 Posted May 18, 2004 Posted May 18, 2004 The problem was that the Warlords kept on fighting each other which made the job much easier for the rebellion http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
ADarkJedi44 Posted May 18, 2004 Posted May 18, 2004 If they had 25,000 ISDs I don't think the Warlords could have took them all... Sweat saves blood-Erwin Rommel
Mad78 Posted May 18, 2004 Posted May 18, 2004 Crew defections were quite comon I think and the rebelion capturee alot not talking about the ones the warlords didn't have the ressources to maintane. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
ElvisMiggell Posted May 18, 2004 Posted May 18, 2004 That's a good point actually, economic decline probably didn't help the Imperials at all. Elvismiggell. Strike me down and i will become more powerful than you can ever imagine... Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Mad78 Posted May 18, 2004 Posted May 18, 2004 And with the internal war they were in what we would call as the **** http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
ElvisMiggell Posted May 18, 2004 Posted May 18, 2004 Try to mind the obscenity please. But yes, your point is correct. They were fighting an internal conflict, and a guerilla foe with forces designed to cope with major engagements. A star destroyer is not a stealthy weapon! Elvismiggell. ADarkJedi44 Posted May 18, 2004 Posted May 18, 2004 They could have flung a 100 ISDs at the advancing Rebels a few months after Endor. The Rebel fleet probably wouldn't have been able to repel such a large force and I hope the Empire could have gotten a force of 100 ISDs together! Sweat saves blood-Erwin Rommel
Mad78 Posted May 19, 2004 Posted May 19, 2004 The ISDs were often under the command of local govenors who didn't want to give up there protection http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
Stellar_Magic Posted May 19, 2004 Posted May 19, 2004 He's right about the local governors part except when it comes odwn to one thing. From the books you'd have to think that an enormous proportion of the Imperial Fleet fell under the command of the warlords. Most of the governors that had any ships either kept them or hurled them after pirates and other gangs. Of course there is something else that bothers me, does anyone have an apporximent number of the forces that the rebels had. I heard they'd station enough ships over Mon Calamari to repel a small imperial armada. How many ships did they have just after endor? ElvisMiggell Posted May 19, 2004 Posted May 19, 2004 Well they lost quite a lot. And in the film you get the impression they're throwing everything they've got at the DSII. Elvismiggell. Mad78 Posted May 19, 2004 Posted May 19, 2004 2 calamaris 1 nebulon b 3 corvettes and a few transports you must be joking http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
AdmiralFishface Posted May 19, 2004 Posted May 19, 2004 There were more Mon Cal than that. The Liberty and a wingless MC cruiser were blown up, So, with Ackbar still alive at the end of the battle it must have been at least three. Official numbers are around 6 I think. Still, ridiculous. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v436/RiesstiuIV/Krempel/trapaure.gif
Mad78 Posted May 19, 2004 Posted May 19, 2004 Must mean that they didn't send all there fleet http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
AdmiralFishface Posted May 19, 2004 Posted May 19, 2004 Perhaps just all they could spare, or all that could reach the Sullust rendevouz point in time. They didn't know they ran into a trap, they probably expected, some five or six SDs, and the Home One and two or three of the smaller MonCal cruisers could have taken an SSD, but they didn't expect one to be there either. (Guess on strength of Home One based on assumption she was only slightly weaker than Mon Remonda). And they would have stayed clear of the firing range of the DS's Turbolasers, so that would not have been a problem. My question is: Why did they bring in their transport ships (and there were several Gallofree Yards Medium Transports in the fleet) ??? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v436/RiesstiuIV/Krempel/trapaure.gif

Mad78 Posted May 19, 2004 Posted May 19, 2004 Let me explainthe hole strike was actually 3 fleets brought together. And each fleet had transport ships for supplies when the fleets got together they brought these ships with them and there was absolutely no reason why they should leave them unprotected on Sullust when no Imperial fleet was expected to be protecting the DS http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance

ADarkJedi44 Posted May 19, 2004 Posted May 19, 2004 At least 6 or 8 MC cruisers...they still had a few left after Endor. Sweat saves blood-Erwin Rommel
Mad78 Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 If Elvis was talking to me before: I got the info from playing XWA where you have to help each fleet join up because they are being attacked http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
