JediYamato Posted February 15, 2004 Posted February 15, 2004 I'm trying to edit the music files in Rebellion(I know how), but I do not know how to play/view them. Do I need some kind of converter or editor or something?
the_mask Posted February 15, 2004 Posted February 15, 2004 Not really, they are normal wave files. If you copy them to your hdd and remane their extension to .wav you can even hear them with the Windows media player http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
ElvisMiggell Posted February 17, 2004 Posted February 17, 2004 How do you mean edit the music files? Elvismiggell. Strike me down and i will become more powerful than you can ever imagine... Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
the_mask Posted February 17, 2004 Posted February 17, 2004 Oh, I didn't answer about the editing, 'cause he said he already knows that. http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
AsterXiphos Posted April 10, 2004 Posted April 10, 2004 Umm, this is actually something I was interested in . . . could you elaborate for me? How do I get the music files out so I can change the extension to .wav? Je Suis L'Homme!
Cain Posted April 10, 2004 Posted April 10, 2004 Try the smaker program....or copy that music MDATA's in your drive and change only the extension file Mask btw tell me in the P II what music should I present to the comunity for download ? http://www.swrebellion.net/postp29367.html#29367 - The Trivium Organization - Community Manager -- Petroglyph Fan Forums - CoAdmin & Human Resources Manager -
smellymummy Posted July 14, 2004 Posted July 14, 2004 from what I can tell, the music files are the mdata.300 through 315, right? and the 15 other files are movies only? also, does anyone know off hand how the music plays? for some music it seems to be queued, while at other times the music selection seems pretty random. does anyone know if its 100% random or if it's queued, on event or just queued to 'play all'? I'll be listening some more now for sure.. I was thinking of using some music from the soundtracks, the full tracks or maybe just some parts of it
the_mask Posted July 14, 2004 Posted July 14, 2004 I think it's mostly tied to the events. Like, if you lose a big battle against the Empire it will play this slow and sad piece and so on. The other files are the movies, yeah. I got an old version of Smacker on my site with the description on how to implement your own. http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
GoldenShadow Posted July 25, 2004 Posted July 25, 2004 Is it possible to replace those mono music files with stereo ones, encoded with a surround channel. Playing this game would be more fun if it would utilize my PC surround sound system. I sorta got this effect by taking one of the music files, Mdata.300, I saved it as a stereo 16-bit signed wav. then reopened it, and inverted the right channel and saved it again. now it plays and sound comes from rear channel now, but its not quite true surround since every speaker is playing the same sounds. ei, both halves of the stereo signal are the same. We need to get some official stereo music to plug in there. I used http://www.goldwave.com to make the changes

You can of course convert mono to stereo, but it will only become a larger file. I've used the OST for replacing the mono tracks. However, all other sounds still remain mono.
