Jahled Posted January 20, 2003 Posted January 20, 2003 ...and the Imperial officer has to have an English accent to stay authentic to the Star Wars feel....mine's not bad. http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
Jahled Posted January 20, 2003 Posted January 20, 2003 ...maybe it's because i'm English... http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
UntimelyDemise Posted January 20, 2003 Posted January 20, 2003 I wonder if anyone could crack the voice of Sienar from Tie Fighter? I'm sure with all the dialog he does, we could find some nifty messages... Jahled, you should record your voice and post it here. Maybe you could be the next IMP-22! Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.--Napoleon Bonaparte I know that you believe that you understood what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.--Robert McCloskey, State Department spokesman Support the USA!
Jahled Posted January 20, 2003 Posted January 20, 2003 ...umm...i've got a sore throat... http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
Jahled Posted January 20, 2003 Posted January 20, 2003 Anyway, IMP-22? Gosh what an insult! I was thinking more along the lines of the Imperial in the tactical battle. http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
UntimelyDemise Posted January 20, 2003 Posted January 20, 2003 "The Fleet Has Been Destroyed!" speaks an exasperated Jahled, who then downs a tankard of Corellian Whiskey. "Ahh, who gives a womprat's arse? We'll just build some more..." states Jahled in a slurred voice. Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.--Napoleon Bonaparte I know that you believe that you understood what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.--Robert McCloskey, State Department spokesman Support the USA!
Jahled Posted January 20, 2003 Posted January 20, 2003 10/10 for character observation, 'Jahled' was my second choice, 'Beer_Consuming_Fool' arrived just before I did... To quote one of the Irish-bards: 'I drink to make other people interesting...' http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
ricepr2001 Posted January 21, 2003 Posted January 21, 2003 where are some of the others than shouldnt they all be in the same file Why are people afraid to die? It is a natural part of life. Life and Death. They go together. Some people are just willing to speed up that process.
TK421 Posted January 21, 2003 Posted January 21, 2003 We can do an audition: some people take some lines from SWR, do their voices, record them, post/mail them, and we'll have a look.. My english may sound bad... I could do R2 if necessary Z'anthr saves the world. Sorry about the mess...
the_mask Posted January 21, 2003 Posted January 21, 2003 Tsunami: I am and I got another Home one as well, one with about 1/11th of the polycount of my first try. The problem is, that when it has a texture you can play a tactical battle to the end, but the second the battle is finished, the game crashes. I've discussed this with vakundok, he had some useful tips, some I still have to try out. But I got the dates for my 12 oncoming exams yesterday as well ... ... ... they are not very promising. I'll see what I can do, maybe I get another one of these mad-man accumulations and I'm suddenly able to complete it in half an hour Jahled & Untimely: let's do the voices last . We still have a long way to go there. But a contest would be nice then, yeah. http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
TK421 Posted January 21, 2003 Posted January 21, 2003 The persons of course will be named in the credit movie at the end of the game. This movie will be made by Mask so we know it is worth it! Z'anthr saves the world. Sorry about the mess...
Jahled Posted January 21, 2003 Posted January 21, 2003 See you guys at the Oscars. http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
the_mask Posted January 21, 2003 Posted January 21, 2003 And the Oscar for Best motion picture, Best special effects, Best drama, Best comedy, Best action movie, ... heck there's only one winner this time. A newcomer here in Hollywood : the MASK ! the Mask walks up to the podium and gives away his best imitation of Sally Fields: 'Thank you, thank you. You really love me' snivel http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
Jahled Posted January 21, 2003 Posted January 21, 2003 ..only if it has the following DLL in it for when Luke goes off to Dagobah: http://members.rogers.com/pixelmasher/graphics/starhoppers/yodabounce.gif Check out Yoda's ears! http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
the_mask Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 Yeah, I already downloaded them all at Monday That's one of the best, along with the duel between Vader and ObiWan http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
TK421 Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 I'll try to start with a GUI for the NR. I was thinking about a starship interior ith a viewscreen of the galaxy. Z'anthr saves the world. Sorry about the mess...
the_mask Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 You got the original X-Wing game ? There was a big screen, where Dodonna/Ackbar always explained the missions. Although this will not have the required resolution, but it could give you some pointers http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
Jahled Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 I'm with TK421 on this one, it's got to the interior of a Mon-Calamari starship, like the briefing in Return of the Jedi, and laods of other Star Wars games. I'm not entirely sure what your talking about, i'm presuming the mission interface where C3-P0 struts his stuff. http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
Tsunami Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 The screens from XWA could be a good clue, especially the one from the briefings. Ohyeah: Hangar shots. They could definetely come in handy. The ones from the XWAUpgrade Project are quite amazing. It's all hopeless but otherwise not very dramatic. - Helme Haffax Englishman: "What do you think of Modern Civilization?"Mahatma Gandhi: "That would be a good idea."
the_mask Posted January 23, 2003 Posted January 23, 2003 That's why I proposed XW, it's also aboard a MonCal, but the briefing room is not made like an ancient roman colloseum. The high seats around the screen are just not right for the GUI in Rebellion http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
TK421 Posted January 23, 2003 Posted January 23, 2003 Alright, I'll start with it tomorrow. I'll take the pic of the Alliance Briefing of X-Wing Alliance Z'anthr saves the world. Sorry about the mess...
the_mask Posted January 23, 2003 Posted January 23, 2003 Ah, I meant that this pic would not work, with the high seats and all. Bummer that the scenes from Return of the Jedi didn't show more from the bridge of Home one. We could've used that. http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
Tsunami Posted January 23, 2003 Posted January 23, 2003 A pity, but you are probably right. But aren't the locations for all the pointers/functions/whatever hard-coded? So that if we were to change the main interface, we had to maintain the original positions? (Well, how hard-coded can anything be with Resource Hacker on hand?) It's all hopeless but otherwise not very dramatic. - Helme Haffax Englishman: "What do you think of Modern Civilization?"Mahatma Gandhi: "That would be a good idea."
ricepr2001 Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 zoom in just a little bit on the blue screen and cut part of the bottom off and it would work, it wouldnt make it look too bad just cutting the bottom off, and take it in the highest mode the came has for screen resolution and that would reduce the "Strech" makes too Why are people afraid to die? It is a natural part of life. Life and Death. They go together. Some people are just willing to speed up that process.
TK421 Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 Has someone a clue to convert a 16 bit picture to a 256 color one without this incredible loss of colors? I'm going to make a viewscreen/projectionscreen on the GUI, so no large window, okay? Z'anthr saves the world. Sorry about the mess...
