Ah I just remembered that I remembered right when I drove home after writing that last post, that the 3PO unit is Emtrey.

Squeaky was with the Wraiths.

Emtrey and squeaky were both 3po units but modified, Whistler was an R2

But.. they are using funky weird animated BMPs for the protocol droid and the r2 unit.

 

Has anyone actually tried replacing either of those 2 droids? I had a quick look a few weeks ago and I noticed they were in BMP format.

Well if C-3po is changed into an M-po then isn't that just a change of his head? Changing Artoo into whistler is just color, or is there more to it than that?

Yeah, lets not try anything too advanced, emtry and whistler should be quite easy to get hold of. But i wouldn't know about actually swapping them.

The bmps should be easy to exchange. But be careful, there seems to be the same bluescreen background to them, as in the card pics.

Shouldn't be a problem should it? Whistler is the same size as R2, and emtrey or squeaky has the same body but a larger head, so that's not going to be a problem is it?

Whistler is a gren version from ARtoo as for emtrey...

As for emtrey he looks like a gray green 3po unit with a clamshell on top of his head. Where a clamshell would split runs along the top of his head. He has fairly simple photoreceptors, but apart from that i don't know.

 

And that's all from two or three year memory, so it's probably wrong.

Maybe we could use the head of that silver protocol droid on the Deathstar in EpIV. Seen briefly when Luke and Han escort Chewie into the turbolift to the cell block.

What do we do about the Imperials? I don't remember any recognizable droid that could do the job, but simply keeping the originals is kinda boring.

This silver protocol droid has the same body, but a different face..

 

As for IMP22 (this greedy sarcastic droid wants to take over control of the galaxy instead of you, I sometimes think, ie. Just what do you think you are doing?), it is more fun to have him changed too. Maybe for a sort of 4LOM or Death Star protocol droid, or the droid of Yom Argo and his friend pilot?

i dont know if anyone actually tried it but i changed the bmps for 3po and R2 i made r2 green like whistler and i put some distinctive markings on 3po and when you get a message r2 turns blue again, and in the introduction movie 3po turns to normal but in the gameplay 3po is good and the markings stay, i didnt see any movies or anything but ill try and play with it a little more

Ah, there are a few different pics over the dlls for 3PO and IMP22, that's why your 3PO and R2 sometimes change, when they play the different animations.

 

For the human officer ? Why not use the Guy Siner (or Sienar, does anyone really know the name of that guy in Tie/F) ? I've not read anything implying his later carreer, although the Protector seems to have been captured.

 

That silver Deathstar droid is the silver 3PO droid I meant. It has the same head and can also be seen with the Jawas in EPIV, shortly after 3PO wakes up there.

Are you working on some textures for your models? Is anyone?

Is there a possibility for a version of the Home One with less polygons? Right now the game becomes unplayable when there are more than three on screen (and I'm talking of an Athon 1k).
