Having just installed the most recent SVN and begun playing, I have discovered a very awkward bug in my game. I was attacking a group of dreadnought pirates hanging around a neighboring planet when i noticed that one or two of them were firing not lasers, but white boxes instead, almost as if the animation for the laser fire was missing, now mind you these animations only showed themselves when my ships were moved in for close range combat and I am not sure how that might effect things. Another strange bug, it seems is that my music just up and halts after a few minutes of play, ill need to test that more since the length of time seems to vary. But more importantly, this strange whitebox effect is weird and im positive its likely how i downloaded the SVN or not, but if anyone has run into this before, i'd love some suggestions on how to fix it.

Run SVN Checkout for the CORE module again, overwrite your current folder. It's known that running the SVN Checkout only once does not do the trick sometimes.
