July 30, 201016 yr Instead of the MC80 diplomatic cruiser (which, as far as I can tell, nobody uses), I propose the Alliance be given the Dauntless-class Cruiser (a canonical Alliance capital ship noted for heavy firepower). This will add some distinctiveness and variety to Alliance fleets (whereas before a battle fleet would be almost completely made of Mon Cal warships, adding this Sullustan vessel will help give the sense of mix-and-match that the Rebel fleets truly were). I know this would be a significant amount of work, but I honestly think it would be a very large improvement in both gameplay and immersion in the Galactic Civil War.
July 30, 201016 yr SWR Staff - Executive I do like the diversity, but outside of Rebellion - it really isn't that well known of a ship. I'd be surprised if Eville didn't have his own version of the Dauntless Evaders99http://swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif Webmasterhttp://swrebellion.com/images/banners/swcicuserbar.png Administrator Fighting is terrible, but not as terrible as losing the will to fight.- SW:Rebellion Network - Evaders Squadron Coding -The cake is a lie.
July 30, 201016 yr Author He does - I found a few different modeled (and one skinned) versions in the gallery on this site. For example, this one: http://warlords.swrebellion.com/g2/main.php?g2_itemId=490 The only reason I'm proposing this is because nobody uses the Diplomatic Cruiser - too little firepower for a capital ship, plain and simple. I really think adding another (very different) warship into the game is fantastic for diversity.
July 31, 201016 yr SWR Staff - Executive I do think of the Dauntless as a heavy firepower ship - may best be used during the post-ROTJ era. If other factions get an upgrade, I think the Alliance can get the Dauntless easily Evaders99http://swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif Webmasterhttp://swrebellion.com/images/banners/swcicuserbar.png Administrator Fighting is terrible, but not as terrible as losing the will to fight.- SW:Rebellion Network - Evaders Squadron Coding -The cake is a lie.
July 31, 201016 yr Author At this point, if Eville could give me the model (and one other of his Sins models to base off of, since I have no idea how to designate firing points and the like) I am pretty confident I'd be able to put it ingame successfully to see how it plays. I know he's too busy to deal with adding new ships now, but I'd like to try in his stead.
August 1, 201016 yr SWR Staff - Executive I don't think there will be a way to disable a race for eras. I think they will still be available, but obviously won't be able to match the top ships in the NR/YV era Evaders99http://swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif Webmasterhttp://swrebellion.com/images/banners/swcicuserbar.png Administrator Fighting is terrible, but not as terrible as losing the will to fight.- SW:Rebellion Network - Evaders Squadron Coding -The cake is a lie.
