I think its safe we don't have too many skinners or modders around. My question is has anyone asked the jedi knight and battlefront II communites for extra help? Or any other gaming community for assitance? Ive gotten intrested people but never have i acutally recuited anyone, The meaning of this thread is to see if we could get some outside talent.

You know, the minute you get something from them, someone is going to piss off at you and call you a porter before you even get to show your evidence.

It shouldn't be too hard to find people who could make MAX or OBJ meshes for people to convert and animate.

 

We should get some outside talent, or ask permission to use their work. It'd be helpful, since the EaW community is as dead as a fish out of water ran over by a steam-roller, well, soon-to-be anyhow, its struggling at the moment.

The trouble with Jedi Knight is a lot of the great contributors no longer have any interest in the game or have moved on and their contact info has changed. I'm actually attempting to contact one right now about a low poly model that might save me time if I can ever find a decent animation tutorial and can remap the model for dds textures.

 

Gametoast is the best place for contacting any Star Wars Battlefront modelers. And they are very rare.  Skinners on the other hand would be pretty easy to find there. Gametoast does have an EAW forum if I'm not mistaken.

This brings back a lot of memories. I nearly joined the BF community. My mods took up too much hard drive space, and all clunked out. Nearly a year later, I heard of a new game, Star Wars:Empire at War...

Yea, your definatly right about the JK community. Its like walking into Ghost town. I have some hope in contacting the Battlefront II community. Since i do have that game... Not that many people play it online but anyway if we could get some help... Whats another game community that has plenty of modders?  I liked to have experienced modders.  I mean it would be nice to have some models on the level of Bails. He has perfect animations, shadows, bump maps. It looks like he works for Petro. I mean Warlords is ok but the models don't really look like they are for EAW.

well for jk hapslash is still around modeling. He's the last guy for JK I can think of, but the level of detail on his models would kill this game's engine. Neomarz I believe called it quits a while back.

I'm actually looking for contact on psychoticsith. His Clone Wars models would be perfect. I have Kit Fisto in Max right now which I'm playing around with.

I'm not sure what happened to the BF community after BFII(probably a lot more modders), but I know there are a ton of expierienced Re-skinners there. (I was one of them ;D.) There might be scratch skinners. I know that there were a FEW new models. Also, BF's coding is similar to EaW's. The format is a little different, but I'm sure ODFers can easily become XMLers(I used to use BFIIs ODFs)

I was simply stating what they can do, if anyone were ever to ask for their help.

They have a few vehicle moddelers, lots of prop modellers, not many infantry modellers if any tho...I think because you can practically slap any animation onto any model without it screwing up...that'd be nice for EaW/Foc...wait, I should try it with the anim overrides. It'll probably crash my game tho  ;D
