Ships hyper in from the west of the map, but they should be facing north, as the radar map indicates when an ISD or SSD enters the battle from its direction. This makes this map harder, or easier, depending on how you play it. But its still a bug they took no notice of fixing.

I can think of at least 3 bugs still in EAW, one I know players were complaining about within a few days after the game was released.
