my name is Franchil and I am member of a francophone group who has launched the first francophone mod for EAW. But to improve it we would like to add some new space ships, and we have seen that some mods realised this, so we would like to know how to proceed. 

 

Is there someone who can explain us the process, or who can give us a link to a good article concerning this point???  :'(

You can only add in variants of stock ships. You cannot currently add new ones until the modding tools are released, and don't ask when that will happen. Its supposed to be soon.

When you say that we can "add in variants ships", you mean that we can give possibility to acces to the hiden space ships (like venatro, v wing, tie advanced, etc), that's right?

 

But can we make a copy of an existing ship, and after modify it (like make it bigger or adding an over color)???

 

And concerning the announced modding tools, they will be in the next patchs or we will have to download them on an oter place?

I've been able to add squadron (fighter) leaders to squadrons that have advanced firepower and shields, but I only used the copy & paste button. I have no idea how to change color, tho...

Yes, you can enable all of those ships.

Yes, you can do that to.  Even add colors, although I don't know how to do it.  There was a thread on this forum earlier that explained how to do it.

Well, Petroglyph obviously has the tools but they haven't released them.  I think that either a) they'll never release them, or b) they'll try to sell them to us in an 'expansion'.  So far the mod tools are nothing but vaporware, and there's no indication whatsoever that they'll ever be anything else.

Yes, you can. A member of the forum "AdmiralRyan" by name, posted a minimod which allowed the rebels to build a smaller version of home one as a less powerful version of the ship.

If you mean new models you're right, but if you are talking Coding aswell then you are very wrong, I've added 4 new ships, without doing variants. Although you are very right about the models part.
