TIE Advanced Squadrons Based on Vader?

Would it be possible to make buildable squadrons of TIE Advanced fighters based on the model of Vader's fighter? I mean squadrons that consist of only Vaders prototype without the non-hyperspace capable TIEs that back him up. Could this be done just by creating a new fighter with the xml file or is it far more complex then I'm thinking?
It has been done but is extremely Buggy.  It just needs you to Clone the Tie Fighter entry and edit the model that the TIE fighter accesses to make the squad.

Why not use the TIE fighter entry as a template, but create a 'varient of existing' on Vaders TIE?
