Modding crashes

Featured Replies

I am having difficulties modding EAW.  I downloaded the extractor and extracted the contents of config.meg, placing them in my Gamedata/Data folder.  However, without even editing any of the files (and without moving the original config.meg away) I cannot successfully start EAW.  It will start long enough to show the first logo screen, but will never move on to the lucasarts logo.  What am I doing wrong?  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

TiJiL. Try moving any XML files into:

GameData/Data/XML  (new folder called XML in the DATA folder) and it should be fine.

Thanks for the swift reply, but when I extracted them they automatically formed folders (Gamedata/data/XML, Gamedata/data/scripts, and Gamedata/data/Resources), so I believe it should be correct already but still have this crashing problem.

Hi,

well i had that problem before, after i use Kaelics MEG Extractor it works for me:

Just a tip extract all *.meg in that order (only the *.meg at the Data Folder & Patch.1.2 must be installed)

Models.meg

*your-language*Speech.meg

Music.meg

Shaders.meg

Movies.meg

Cinematics.meg

Textures.meg

Maps.meg

Patch.meg

Config.meg

For editing i use the program " Notepad++"

After all is done u shouldn´t get the Story hang at the Rebel Campaign.
