February 17, 200620 yr After playing galactic conquest for many hours, I decided I want to try against other players. Empire at War said that to play multiplayer it is required I get this patch. I got the patch and install it. I launch the game and to my surprise: "Please insert the original SWEAW_1 cd/dvd". I was very frustrated, as I have the DVD in the drive and it is the "original" and only CD. It it brand new today and worked before patch. How can I play multiplayer if I can't get the patch working? Any help here would be greatly appreciated. I am from England if this helps.
February 17, 200620 yr I got the same message... I have the CD version of the game and installed the patch immediately after installing the game. However, I tried starting the game a few more times and eventually it read the CD and started the game. I would suggest trying to start the game from the disk ... via autoplay or just double-clicking on the executable ... Hope that works for you!
February 17, 200620 yr Author When the message came up did you keep clicking retry or did you click cancel and try running again?
February 17, 200620 yr You might try taking the disk out and popping it back in and trying it that way ... I had similiar issues with Silent Hunter III in DVD ... eventually it would work though. I hope you can find a solution to this issue. Maybe one of the Petro guys can help out.(I had read on the Lucasarts forum that someone said this was a CD Only patch.. but I don't know ifthat had any validity) Good Luck!!

February 17, 200620 yr here is a tip uninstall programs that would be usefull if your game isnt...real...anyway programs like deamon tools and alochol should be uninstalled try that http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/os/type/0/kingdark.png
February 17, 200620 yr Author My game IS real, I bought it from Play.com (uk). I have daemon tools, but why does it need to be uninstalled?
February 17, 200620 yr Author Maybe someone who can mod could mod the patch somehow to make it work with the DVD? Or can I get a petroglyph guy to answer here?
