just so i know what do you people this is better

 

planet hop (which costs money to build raiding forces and mass defense, but gives alot in return)

 

or build up (which means you get a few stragical plantes and build up a strong defense for a huge battle)

 

planet hop would gain more money, but would leave you extreamly open for a all out counter attack. while a build up would allow for less money but better units in a more confined area allowing you to take out another planet hopper somewhat faster...

 

your views? anyone?

i fight defensively and don't like to planet hoping its too easy for my enemy to counter attack i try to scatter out my planets, so i can have a strongholds and my strategy is to defeat the empire, then take over the Galaxy so i will attack early destroy the empire then planet hop and conquer the rest of the Galaxy.   so ill go with build up.

well since the rebels have the unique ability to steal technology and resources  i will probably just have a mobile fleet which can jump from system to system to stay away from the empire and have spies infiltrate them taking their resources, and technology.  till i had enough of a force to stand against them that is.  So i guess this is just a different versoin of "building up"

i built at the start 5 infantrie squads and 5 light ships i send them to the nearby planets to conquer them. and there ends it

i try and protect my more inportant planet. also i build on the new planet only mining instalations to get my income up asap

once i got small fleet on the small planet i start giving them reinforcements. once my outer planets, more or less surounding my important planets are protected, i start building and upgrading for a more powerfull fleet. then i destroy some of the mining instalations to be able to build barracks and a light factory etc

^^ so basicly build up  ;D

 

- I personally would go buildup with the imps and hopping (<---that sounds kinda wierd :) with the rebles. main because if i was the empire i'd want to get my AT-AT asap and if i was the rebles i would have a good ossortment of (fast) ships at a relitivly low tec, which would let me planet hop better.

this does not realy matter but does anyone know if the ship is in the game that took out the at at in the movie? you know with the harpoon?

Planet hopping is impossible. Every neutral planet will be defended by at least pirates. Or so I've heard.

 

I'll go with a combination of quick pirate planet conquering and build up. Since I'll most likely play as the rebels, I think a few build up planets like Alderaan and Mon Calamari will do.

Same for me as well... I like to build shield generators and hypervelocity guns, but just for defense.

does anyone know what the max nr of buildings is on a map? Because it has to have at leas 6

Barracks, then from light to advanced (3 diffrent buildings i think)

and a laser cannon

those are my priority

if i got anything left i would choose for the shield gen and powerplant.

The largest planets have ten building slots.

you should make certian planet types. having two of one type of building really is the best way to go

I think the best way to go is to have your strongest planets with research factories and heavy defenses (If you're the Empire) and your weak planets having as many mining facilites as possible. Ya know, milking the cow on the bad planets and fighting the war on the strong ones.

ya... if your wanting to mine farm. use either the west outer planets. i had a whole row of them with all mines. and got +10k from just 5 planets.... when i started to pick up the pace i just started throwing money onto the rebles..... i litterly just out produced them by even half way through the game.... acc pwns so much
