we all have seen the screen that shows x wings flying over storm troopers, but my question is can we have a big pitched battle of fighters in the atmosphere of a planet? Also I'd like to bring up bespin. Is Bespin in the game? And if it was it would be mostly atmosphereic fighter engagements and maybe a few ground force skirmishes on bespin city or something.

I think they said there would be atmopsheric battles. You would be able to have bombing runs and maybe attack runs, but they wouldn't stay floating around for you to do whatever with like in SWGB.

 

As for bespin, it is in, but I imagine it will be like the water planets, most the fighting will occur in the city.

Something may have changed in that reguard since they said recently that x-wings, a-wings, tie scouts and tie fighters wouldn't be involved on ground maps. The only units like that you will see are the Y-Wings and Tie Bombers that are performing bombing missions.

I think they are still in because they are the counterweapon for AT-ATs.

Probably the X-Wings and TIE will be like they were in Force Commander, able to come down for a short time before they have to go refuel since atmosphere really gobbles fuel

What about battles in the upper atmosphere like the battle above corusant in EP:III? The debris could fall and hit your/your enemys base.
