The Live chat was a disaster. It seems nothing was tested beforehand. If I was the Devs I'd be kinda insulted that it happened in such a way it did.

Anyone else agree/disagree?

Also Cain couldn't change his name, thats just wrong

Well I totally agree with you. But I think it's not a problem for Petro, honnor is safe

But I really can't bear DMUK , he is really annoying with all his "EAW.NET LIVE CHAT ! EAW.NET LIVE CHAT ! " and I feel he is a stupid kid unable to do something correctly.

Finally :

-Wrong time (it was 6PM GMT (we are still in the summer time !)

- Nothin worked.

Well I agree, a disaster.

I think so also Siddus, his site was down for how long? Then out of no where he wants attention like no other person.

Its not DMUK's fault about the problem really, he just didn't anticipate it. But still it seems like a slap to the face.

True, it wasn't his fault per-se, but if you've arranged a proper interview of this maginitude with the developers you are expected to expect the unexpected... like swiftdraw said on the forums about Murphy's Law.

I do hope the guys at Petroglyph don't take offense (They probably won't, but the reschedule may have been awkward).

Unexpected ?! lol.

This problem already happened during a starwars Galaxies Devchat, it's a very known problem ! More ! DMUK is following Star Wars Galaxies with other section of Lucas Forums !

I'll even add that problems with clones (multi users per host) the ban/kick is not a surprise.

If DMUK is not a child, don't act as if he couldn't anticipate.

Ok, I can see the blame lying more with him if a little more research into the potential problems could have solved a whole lot of hassle.

Don't forget it's easy to look at this in hindsight. At the time I don't recall any others pointing out this flaw (admittedly this may be because those who predicted it all believed it had been sorted). But since this had happened before in the same place... maybe he didn't put enough work in beforehand as there should have been.

I have no idea what age DMUK is, but I'm not going to start thinking about this in terms of that. In all reality it shouldn't matter. Everyone makes mistakes sometimes, regardless of age.

Wow - I could not make it in time for the chat and it seems that I was right to hope for a second chance.

Anyway we could try to imagine something similar here on our forums. Instead of a chat we could make a forum session on a topic (subforum) were only a few can talk but they all can see ... how about that.

My only concern is that I have no clue if our forum will be ok when we will have 200 people looking at the same topic in the same time .... hmmm. Will see.

I feel sorry for DMUK by the way.

If we were able to do that it would be very good for the Forum's Prestige.

It would be possible, but imagine a bunch of people refreshing everyhting and such to see the answers. Bandwidth Issues.

Also I've noticed a problem with the forum in that Quick Reply doesn't really work well. Instead it takes you to the preview post screen and then the submit doesn't work. I know The Quick Reply is a mod for this forum but it seems upon install it got messed up. I'd advise taking it off so things work normal again.

um, iv'e been outta the eaw loop for about 4 months, can some1 plz tell me when it will be released, will the ssd be in it, and will tie interceptor's be in it, and will EU stuff be included

Zero. Here is the Lowdown

No SSD or Interceptors

"No units post ANH"

The EU units are the TIE Mauler (TIE Crawler), TIE Recon, Interdictor, Victory-Class Destroyer, Marauder Corvette, Corellian Gunship, Tartan Destroyer, Broadside Cruiser, Assault Frigate, the Tanks for Alliance and Rebels. Various other ground units.

Released February 2006

I'm still holding to the belief that there are SSDs. But thats my private belief.
