OK here's how it works.

 

A fighter runs up the spine of the Destroyer and using lasers takes out the shield towers. Then it swings around just above the engine bank and takes out the turbolaser just above the engine. Then the fighter lets go with all it has on the bridge and the body of the destroyer. Or alternatively you can take out the engines and the weapons and capture it.

Can someone take a look at the video and zoom to see if the shield domes are added as subsystems ?

i heard the guys at e3 in the video say shield generator on ships are tactical hard points, so yes you can destroy them.

Admiral Solo knew the advantage of the trench run. That's how he pummled the SSD Iron Fist For an attack run in say the game, orders u could give fighters, that would be a cool command. Great for bringin down thoes pesky imp stars. But it shouldn't be that easy. hardpoints shouldn't just crumble, or what's the point of a capitol ship?

My plan was to use about 10 squads to do this. And 10 bomber squads to take out the weapons and engines lol.

Where was it that ppl were concerned there weren't any other hyperspace routes then the ones givin? i was replaying the video, and the guy specificly says that u can use starbases for viable tactical hyperspace route? or was he just revering to needing a starbase in that system now that the deathstar had blown up the planet? (30:58 ) sorry to go off topic, i just noticed it lol

So having a Starbase in a system, like Carida Did after Kyp Durron used the Suncrusher. Would allow it to maintain it's Trade routes.

no no, what he was meaning by what he said about building starbases there since it is still a tactical hyperspace route. So that means you can still build bases there to defend the hyperspace route at that location. He never said anything about how a starbase CREATES a hyperspace route, he was talking about how you could use them to DEFEND the route. good find tho, i never noticed that in the video
