February 8, 200620 yr I was just thinking. Have you ever driven on a highway, going on an overpass? As you drive on it, it sounds as if a squad of TIEs are coming at you. And I noticed this many different times. I wonder if Lucas heard this noise and thought it was cool and decided to make TIE Fighters emit that noise as they streaked across space. Your feeble skills are no match for the power of the Dark Side! My Website http://fp.profiles.us.playstation.com/playstation/psn/pid/BigBadBob113.png
February 8, 200620 yr I must confess to daydreaming I was at the helm of a TIE fighter frequently when I was on the road as a despatch rider on a 750cc, but those days are long gone... but that's about twelve hours of boredom for you. TIE's do resonate as bikes in an underpass though... http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif

That's what the TIE's distinctive screach is. That and an elephant trumpeting... At least I think that's what it is... Must check the Industrial Light and Magic CD again to be certain... 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
February 9, 200620 yr Its a combination of that and the old game "Yoda Stories"... Came in a pack of about seven or eight games back in the nineties when they became less popular and were being sold cheap... 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
February 10, 200620 yr I always thought they were the sound effect made when someone falls from a great height during battle scenes... Just a lot slower and without the fade away... If any of you know what I'm talking about... "I saw the greatest minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving, hysterical, naked, dragging themselves through the negro streets at dawn looking for an angry fix." -Allen Ginnsberg, "Howl"
February 10, 200620 yr Its amazing how they create their sound effects.
