Get a broadband connection and watch the videos, starting with the demo. This game is gonna be nice!

Just had a look at it - looks good, nice graphics and it seems to be able to support a significant number of troops in a single game.

 

The new interface is interesting - not sure if I'm a fan of it yet, I'd have to play it to see.

It's not out yet, not till November. I'm not sure if I like the interface yet either, but everything else about it rocks! Unit emotions and the best of all.... the guys die REALISTICALLY! That's something I've wanted for years.

The game does look nice, and I have been following it, but I'm more interested in the modding possibilities. Because it is based on the same graphics engine as C&C: Generals, any mods that find them selves struggling to find an audience (Imperial Assault, despite the fact that the mod will kick ass), can use the game to rejubinate thier efforts. I was never a big fan of the medieval-type warfare, so I'll probably play the actuall game for a month, then start looking for mods.

i'm hangin out for the very fact that its lotr! War of the ring was cool, but this is based on the movie side of things, and i cant wait to replay all the epic battles we saw in the movies. Helms deep will be fun!

If I play the game, I'll only ever play as Sauron's forces. Nothing can beat a Nahzgul(sp?)!

So isn’t they a similar game? My friend lends me a game about LotR and it was exactly the same than Warcraft III but with LotR characters and story. It was ok, but too much copied on W 3.

Yeah, thats a different game, it isn't even based on the movies actually. It's called the War of the Ring, I think.

Yah, its War of the Ring. Its based on events outside of the movies. By the way Thrawn, its Nazgul (with a circumflex over the u).

 

Modding it will be cool. I wanna get the Balrog! In one of the promos, he picks up a guy and turns him into ash! I wanna get some trolls too, with big clubs! how fun!

Do you have the exact date of when your game is coming out, because, if you ensure me that it will be better that The War of the Ring and that it isn’t a plain copy of an other game, which would make it like a simple mod.

Not an exact date, but it comes out in November 04. It's not gonna be anything like war of the ring, its gonna be way better. this is no ordinary rts. the units are gonna have emotions, and die realistically. it'll be worth getting!

They dont have anything that I know of yet as such, but by the looks of it, its gonna need about 128 RAM, 1 GHz, and a 32MB video card at least. You'd want heaps more to run it full ball.

Then my only problem would be the 1GHz. I hope I wont have any problems with it, cause I dont got the money to upgrade my comp.

I wonder if modding will be possible?

If you don't have $$ for upgrading, how you gonna buy the game? Don't go illegal! THat's not cool!

What I meant was that I dont have money to spend on upgrading AND buying the game. Plus, I'm also buying Battlefront, too.

Okay. That's cool. I'm faced with a similar dilema! I need an upgrade majorly, but BFME, Battlefront, Republic COmmando, The Third Age, and NFSU2 are all coming out soon! I want them all!

Bloody programing companies why can't they space up their game arrivals

I guess they think the diffferent genres will appeal to different types of gamers, so they put out one of each. I don't think they realise how broad the interests of most gamers are! OR they wanna makes heaps of money at once!
