August 11, 200422 yr I think he should aviod making a third trillogy. He would piss off a lot of EU fans because of his disregard for established lore. Frankly, if it happens in the EU, he shouldn't be able to change it because he didn't create it. His vision stopped with RotJ (I know this contradicts what I've siad before, but I'm not talking legally here). History is on the move, Captain. Those who cannot keep up with it will be left behind, to watch from a distance. And those who stand in our way will not watch at all.

August 11, 200422 yr If they do make a third trilogy its obvious to me that those plots...are not for the third one. Lucas has admitted that the story of Star Wars is basically Macbeth on an enormous scale. It's all about Anakin Skywalker, so for Star Wars to continue Anakin would have to be brought back some how. I doubt Lucas would be able to survive the amount of uprising such a plot would ensue from the fans. For one thing Anakin Solo is dead, the Jedi number only around 50 at the end of the NJO, and the New Republic no longer exists. We're not talking about changing one characters background, but an entire legion of characters backgrounds. EU fans would be about ready to place Lucas's head on a Pike. August 11, 200422 yr All this does pose one nagging question however, GL is going to be left with a very large and sudden whole in his work after Ep.3. What's he going to do? Make some movies outside the Star Wars franchise where the motivation of the biggest busks in movie-history might not be found? August 30, 200422 yr Just thought that everyone should know last Monday Lucas made LucasFilm employees sign NDAs that specified they wouldn't discuss Episodes 7, 8, and 9. This was reported on TFN, so don't count the 3rd series out just yet .
