Texture Problem

Featured Replies

I have just made a Star Destroyer model, but I can't texture the hull. The rest of the ship is alright but the hull will only show up black. Anyone have a solution for this?

This is it in Gmax.

And this is it when I try and texture it in LithUnwrap.

can't help you! but nice model! Mask is great for this type of thing... if he's arround, he'll surely set thing straight

Hi, looking good so far. :D

Have you already assigned a material to the selected faces (after unhiding any hidden faces) ?

What about the texture file, is there something painted on the areas, that your model’s faces cover ?

Did you run the Uvmapping menu beforehand ?

Ok, I found out that pressing reset on all the colour options in the LithUnwrap material editor fixed the problem.

Next problem is conv3ds. The tutorial says to open up a dos prompt. I did this and it tells me this program cannot be run in dos mode.

Do you have the "command prompt here" tool from the Ms-Powertoys ?

Alternatively you can create a text file, with the following line:

conv3ds -m -v2 "close.3ds"

and rename the file's extension to .bat. Then a double-click on that file should convert the model close.3ds into .x.

and the file is called something.bat ? Then the icon should change for example and a double-click should start the commands inside it. 8)

Did the explorer show batch file (Stapelverarbeitungsdatei) as file description ?

Umm and you did double-click it ?
