Important: IRC chatters attention

Featured Replies

Since it seems that swrebellion.net is starting an exclusive IRC channel, I feel obligated to provide this link. PLEASE read it, there is a lot of important info on IRC and MUD type deals. There is definite danger involved in IRC, so please read this and BE AWARE.

These last few hours have made me realize that I need some kind of hobby. I'd bet MacGyver could think of something...

I wouldn't be too worried about it if I were you guys, seriously. I run the chat server and have been using IRC for 4 years or so. I've never had a problem. My network is safe, and if there are any problems we take care of them.

Honestly, just come on and chat and have some fun.

I agree and I'm not trying to bash your chat. I'm just saying its like alcohol, gambling, motorcycles, and any number of other fun things...it CAN be addictive, and users should use it with discretion.

I'm sorry if this post bothers you, but I know a number of people (and for a time, myself) who became addicted to IRC and Internet RP, much to the detriment of other aspects of our lives. So, since then I have made sure that people are aware that there can be a problem, and if it should arise, they should understand that it is a legitimate concern and that they should try to deal with it or seek help. I just don't want to see problems arise for anyone else.

But like you said Stratus, go ahead and have some fun everybody, but be aware :)
