  1. Personally, I think it would be nice to have golans on sattilite platforms so you could build multiple ones. Look at Coruscant in the X wing novels, it was bristling with Golans. Make defense a lot more easy than it should be though... how about the golans not spawning anything, they just shoot. The xq's could have a small garrison since they are less powerful, but I don't know. Oh, JC, there are exceptions to laptops not being good for gaming. I agree that there are few, but they exist: alienware laptops, certain asus laptops, and certain just released hp's. Yes hps. Hps are really good computers for their price. I guess the Dell XPS would be another exception.
  2. My gfx card being damaged does not explain why it only does this on this mod and not others, like zerox's which works real well. Please stop talking about my computer being messed up. It just has a mind of its own I have decided. I am normally good with computers, built two of them, but what this thing has been able to do baffles me and baffles everyone else I have talked to. Anyway, I am done with graphics card. My only issue with the land skirmish is the kwing, the way it attacks ground with bombs. In real life and even in Star Wars, bombs do not drop straight down. They follow a ballistic trajectory. Besides that, and whatever has been said earlier, I really think this mod is good. I really think now that one of the files I downloaded for the mod was corrupted in transit, even more likely since it was done over wireless, and that is more liable to screwing up a download than if it was connected. I might uninstall the mod and redownload it with a cable connection. It cannot be the hardware of my computer else the other mods I have would not work, and some of them are even more radical in added features than this one.
  3. To keep myself from complaining about issues on GC, I will no longer be looking that much at the GC but more at the skirmishs, space and land, because I have no problems. However, I left one detail out on why it might be freezing in GC. For a while it wasn't just freezing, it was giving me an error report in GC "Exception.....". This was when I used a mod launcher. When I used the shortcut that came with the mod, the exception messages stopped, instead it would just freeze for a few minutes, go normal a few minutes and then freeze again, so and so on. Could this mean that the file was corrupted when I downloaded it?
  4. wasn't trying to do the GPU, just explaining why my comp wasn't working, and how I fixed it and keep people from drawing the wrong conclusions based only on what I told them of the specs because my comp does not obey its specs. Usually a good thing. Heck, I played a first person shooter that I downloaded off the internet, so entirely on my hard drive, that had better graphics than the original halo and I played it with 0 lag. Anyway, I played a land skirmish and it was great. Had not done that earlier. Never say my comp sucks. Its unpredictable. Thats the worst thing that can be said about it, since its box specs don't seem to reflect its actual performance usually. As for that lag in GC, it has nothing, to, do, with, my, computer's, hardware! I put that in commas since I thought i said that earlier. On other mods as I said, it has never lagged. JC, is there anyway I could delete some file and make the ai act normal in gc? You mentioned one for skirmish, but i forgot what it was, and I also wonder if there is one for gc or if its the same one.
  5. I was running on high detail lol. Thats why I my comp lagged. it works much better now. And sorry for being so aggravating. As I said, my comp disobeys the laws of physics and it annoys me sometimes that I don't know how. As for 110C, it has not reached that temp in a while now, though a few days ago it did reach 90C when I was running the mod and several other programs at once. I feel really stupid for doing some of that stuff JC, please do not take some of my criticism seriously, as my comp is possessed as I said and will probably do things on the mod that no one has ever heard of, because it's not lag that was the problem, because my processor wasn't even maxing out on the game even when it lagged, i just think its the demonic presence in comp playing some cruel jokes on me lol. I did not change my bios, it was an automatic update that makes it have more flexibility in how much of my ram and proccessor everything uses based on powersupply and how much power it needs. Running as a desktop, I have no lag except maybe 3 times where it froze and my processor was just taking its sweet time. The proccessor light wasn't even blinkng fast. It would wink 3 or four times and then stop, and then few minutes later the game would start again. As I said, my specs should not be used to determine what my computer can do because I have seen with my own eyes it playing a game that obviosly was beyond its specs, and yet it did with no lag. For now on, take any performance issues I have with a grain of salt, because no on can rate my comp's ability. It does what it wants. It even turns itself on and off now.
  6. My computer does not act the way it should usually(its possessed lol), and/but I mean this in a good way. I mean it outperforms what its specs would lead one to believe. I have many mods on my laptop, and this is the only one it lags in galactic on. At first I thought it was because I changed my bios but then that would have affected my other mods. As for my integrated graphics, its not like your typical integrated card, and I looked it up and it said that it was better than some 1 year old GPU's even, as in came out one year ago. This was from a person rating all cards, including GPU equiped ones. I would put a new card in if I could, but as I said, this is a high end laptop, not a highend desktop. This thing manages to outperform some how a computer with the same amount of memory that has a 2.8Ghz processor. So i think some of your statements about my specs are unfounded. If you know how to fit a GPU enabled graphics card onto a 20.7cm by 23cm (apr. probably slightly more than that.) laptop, I would really really want to know how. As for my ram, I have more than 1 gig. Recently I saw more proof for my computer being possessed by something, it seems to have overclocked itself. All of the sudden, its performing better than it normally did when I first got it, but heating up very fast, reaching temperatures of 100C and once 110C! To counter the temperature, I now surround my computer with fans and make sure its in a cool place, and now it usually doesn't get over 90C. It occasionally does when running multiple programs including a game, but normally it does not now. I was told by the maker of the processor that the hottest temperature they have seen where the processor still worked was 137C and then it stopped working. Basically you could boil water in my computer lol. Anyway, just wanted to tell ya that. Its only this mod that my computer has problems in GC. All others it does fine in, including ones that add a significant amount of planets. So please don't rate my computer on its specs, because it seems to think that its specs are nonexistant. As a matter of fact, according to a clock recorder, the reason it lags in GC, is because my processor all of the sudden just slows, down, as in it thinks it doesn't need to do as much work, because at this time, the game is only occupying about 3 percent of its proccessing power. Weird. So basically, my processor starts to run the mod as if its MS word or a background system program. Then it goes normal speed for a few seconds and then slows a lot again. I am not making this stuff up. Its incredible, but strangely true.
  7. sorry i was being such a nag. I'm a bit of a perfectionist/obssesive compulsive when it comes to stuff like this. I either complain because of the perfectionist/OCD, or complain because i want to understand something. And my graphics card normally does fine. Its actually an integrated card, but its actually considered the best integrated part there is. So basically it runs off my processor, which isn't much of a problem. I've actually run games with higher min requirements than my computer should be able to meet, like one that had a 2.0Ghz processor minumum requirement with zero lag on my 1.6 Ghz dual core 64bit machine. And I think i may have been mistaken on the lag anyway, I just defragged my comp and there is very little lag now even with the mod units. There is a little but not much. Just wanted to clarify and update and recorrect my earlier statement. However, for some reason it still freezes often on the galactic map, actually lagging more than it does on the battles. Any ideas on why? I thought it was my processor, but you said my processor was good and I do not think the galactic map needs a great graphics card. Sorry for this one last nag, I probably won't nag you anymore until the next version comes out and I find other things to nit pic about lol. I'm told I come from a bloodline of complainers anyway lol.
  8. My graphics card/video card is a Nvidia Gforce 6150. My processor is 1.6 Ghz dual core 64 bit. That speed is not fast it seems when compared to some other processors, but AMD's tend to have a higher clock speed then other processors at the same Hz. Basically 1.6Ghz on a intel processor is slower than a 1.6 Ghz on an AMD processor. It has something to do with the pin configuration and the processor design. Also, this is the first time I had the lag problems, unless of course I turned graphics up to max on the original, then I would see a decent amount of lag. Anyway, any idea why it would lag all of the sudden in Galactic conquest? I mean the galactic map, that has never happened before. Also, for some reason ground x-wings autoheal even without a repair structure or anything like that. It was annoying to fight them, I would take them down to half health during one of their attack runs on some of my units, and then they would quickly heal back. Also, if Vader should be taken out of the game once he is, well taken out, how come Jerec does not do that. Also, I think a standard SSD would be nice, a nonhero ssd so that you can have an executor class even if vader is taken out, because Jerec's ssd sucks. It has about as many hard points as an ISD and the Eclipse has even fewer. So, I think an SSD should be buildable at all times. However, I also must say, the attacks of the ground x-wings look great. PS: I thought Rom Mohc was going to be a dual purpose hero, a space unit as well as a DT phase 3 hero unit on the ground. PS: Rom Mohc: makes me think of run amuck. lol
  9. I'm working with some guys in Germany on a Stargate Mod, we already have a public beta version 3. We are 70% done with it at the moment, polishing animation and stuff, replacing just a few more units with SG ones. We are going to have the planets from the show, we already have a couple of planets with stargates, we have the BC-303 Prometheis class, the daedulus class, all the asgard ships, the f302, the x301, 2 versions of the alkesh, a bomber and a antifighter version, puddlejumpers, death gliders, anubis's mothershi, Thor(i might be mistaken on this one), the Prometheis, the Daedulus, all the motherships, Apophis's advanced mothership, we are going to have malps with 50 cals mounted on them, possibly anyway. We are adding a stinger team in place of the plex soldiers. We have the sound effects perfect, the plasma guns sound like your watching the show. The only visual effect we do not have done are those dealing with super weapons, such as Anubis's mothership, the ancient weapon, etc. etc. We also do not have replicators anywhere close to being done except for their name. Still, the beta mod is really fun and will be updated in a few weeks.
  10. Bug: In galactic conquest, vader can only be built once(executor), and then if it is destroyed, vader and ship are destroyed for good, not even a recharge up or rebuild. It is the same with Pellaeon. Also, the game lags on certain planets. I don't know why its specific planets, but it does. Also, the AI builds so many fighters in a tactical battle, it lags the game, even in movie mode, which usually has the least lag. I wish I could do a screen shot, but I forgot how, of how many fighters I encounter when attacking a normal defense planet. Its not just garrison units either. For less lag, how about cutting the squadrons back down to what they were in the original game, or something like that? Or perhaps get fewer garrison units for the AI. The funny thing is that while vader is a one time deal, Jerec will recharge if his ship is destroyed. Also, at random times, the galactic map will lag itself to the point where it seems my computer has frozen, but after waiting a few seconds, the game resumes. This has never happened before, so I don't know why its doing that, its either the mod or something to do with memory, but I have plenty of memory at the moment.

Bugs and other issues: a. the unit diversity is both a blessing and a curse, a blessing because it's nice to see these awesome new units in the game, a curse because with so many units, there is not enough room for all the units in the build selection menu(skirmish). I noticed this because I could not build the executor because there was not enough room for it on the selection area, even after all the hero units and upgrades were bought. I know the executor can be built in skirmish, because the ai in this mod once came after me with one in a skirmish. b. In skirmish, the rebel and imperial ais will go so fighter spam happy, i have no time to build anything because im already managing a battle, though i think thats just agression, so maybe its not an issue or a bug. It just took some getting used to, having so many units attack at once so quickly. Definitely kept things from being boring (It was a never ending battle, because we would kill eachother's units, and then we would both have more advanced units slugging it out by that time, till one of us got a star dreadnought sized ship, such as the executor in the ai's case.) c. some corvette class vessels are smaller than the missiles they fire it seems like, or the health bar blocks the ship, also making them near impossible to target for attack( best example is the IPV, though the gunship also does this.) d. Ion cannon fired from planet no longer works correctly, it just takes out shields and after that has no effect. Solution for ship build selection problem (suggestion): z3r0x put in shipyards not just for galactic conquest but also for skirmishes. Put some of the units to be built in a shipyard in skirmish. Other than those issues, the mod looks really nice, and i like the rotating turrets, though they always move too fast for me to actually see them rotate, but its still cool. Will soon check out the ground fighting and explore galactic conquest some more. PS: is dash rendar in skirmish? if he is, I can't build him, probably due to the same problem preventing me from building the executor in skirmish. Edit: The mediator class cruiser is the wrong size, it's tiny when compared to the Mediator. Also, you can build 2 Mediators, the prototype one, instead of one, which is what it probably should be.
  12. Kyle Katarn should be Rebel. He pretty much is working only for them. I have never seen him work for anyone else. Rendar is more likely to be either consortium or other fringe elements. Also, he Katarn almost always works with Jan Ors, who is a Rebel operative.
