I simply uninstalled this windows update under the windows control panel (remember to check show updates to list the windows updates installed on your pc). bye

I solved my problem, thanks to the SecuROM Support guys, I discover that an windows update named KB917422 produce a conflict with eaw.... thanks anyway

I installed empire at war on my pc (pentium dual core 2.80 ghz, 2.00 gb ram, 200 gb sata harddisk, ati x600 graphics card), and the installation process finished without any problem, but when I try to start the game both from the autorun window or directly from the exec file (sweaw.exe) nothing happens... I looked through the troubleshooting guide and I followed the instructions: disable zomeAlarm, the antivirus, daemon tools but nothing changes... I also tried the analysis option of the sweaw.exe, but when I click on the launch analysis, again nothing happens... thanks for any help P.S.: the force of corruption works fine...
